About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are seeking a Director, Revenue Accounting Operations - Program Management to build and lead a team focused on modernizing how Revenue Accounting operates at Anthropic. You'll own three interrelated mandates: scaling AI-driven workflows across the order-to-cash lifecycle, running the transformation PMO for Revenue Accounting, and leading NPI program management for product launches for Revenue Accounting. You'll sequence priorities across the Revenue Accounting org, serve as its external face in cross-functional forums, and drive programs from intake through delivery with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders including Finance System, Internal Audit, GTM Systems, Billing Engineering, Product Operations and GTM.
This is a critical leadership role that will directly shape how Revenue Accounting scales alongside Anthropic's rapid growth.
Responsibilities
-
Claudification Strategy and Execution: Define and drive the roadmap for applying Claude and AI-native workflows across Revenue Accounting and Order to Cash — identifying highest-leverage opportunities, partnering with FinSys on prototypes, and scaling what works into durable operational change. Enable the team to adopt and extend these workflows.
-
Transformation PMO: Own the end-to-end portfolio of Revenue Accounting and Order to Cash transformation initiatives — intake, prioritization, resource allocation, project management, status reporting, and risk management.
-
NPI Program Leadership: Lead a team of NPI Program Managers responsible for the financial coordination of every product launch — ensuring Revenue Accounting is engaged early with Product Ops, revenue recognition treatment and order management operationalization are locked before launch, UAT and system configuration are complete, and post-launch monitoring catches issues fast. Establish the intake, readiness, and escalation frameworks that make NPI predictable at scale.
-
Internal Alignment: Serve as the forum where Revenue Accounting priorities get sequenced and trade-offs get made, ensuring the team speaks with one voice on what matters most.
-
External Representation: Represent Revenue Accounting in cross-functional venues — SteerCos, planning cycles, program reviews, launch readiness reviews — and influence partners across cross-functional stakeholders to drive projects to completion.
-
Cross-Functional Partnership: Build tight relationships and operating models with partner teams.
-
Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, executive-ready updates on program health, launch readiness, risks, and trade-offs to finance leadership.
-
Team Building: Hire, develop, and lead a team of transformation leads and program managers; establish the operating rhythms and frameworks that let the team scale.
You may be a good fit if you
-
Have 12+ years of progressive experience spanning revenue accounting, finance transformation, and/or program leadership in high-growth technology environments.
-
Have led large, multi-quarter cross-functional transformation programs with stakeholders across finance, engineering, and GTM.
-
Have deep working knowledge of ASC 606 and the quote-to-cash lifecycle, with the credibility to engage substantively on technical revenue topics even if not personally drafting memos.
-
Have experience leading or closely supporting NPI / product launch accounting, with a point of view on what "launch readiness" means from a Revenue Accounting lens.
-
Are a strong operator — comfortable designing governance frameworks, running program intake, and establishing reporting rhythms that create visibility without creating overhead.
-
Have a track record of influencing cross-functional partners without direct authority, and can translate between accounting, engineering, and GTM audiences.
-
Are energized by applying AI to transform how work gets done, and have a point of view on where the highest-leverage opportunities are in finance and accounting.
-
Have built and developed teams, and think carefully about role design, operating rhythms, and career growth.
-
Thrive in ambiguity and have strong judgment on when to standardize versus iterate.
Strong candidates may have
-
Experience preparing a finance organization for public company readiness, including SOX readiness and audit support.
-
Background scaling NPI or product launch accounting at a high-growth software company.
-
Hands-on experience with modern close automation, revenue recognition, order-to-cash, and billing platforms.
-
CPA and/or Big 4 background.
-
Prior experience at a company going through hypergrowth in a fast-paced environment.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Frame your experience around research operations
Anthropic's Business Operations roles sit inside a research-driven company. Highlight any experience supporting scientific, technical, or engineering teams. Process improvements, vendor management, or cross-functional coordination in a high-complexity environment will resonate more than general corporate operations experience.
Target roles that clear the specialty occupation bar
USCIS requires Business Operations positions to demonstrate that a specific bachelor's degree field is a standard requirement for the role. Roles tied to finance, strategy, or technical program management with a defined degree requirement are more defensible than generalist coordinator titles.
Time your application around Anthropic's growth cycles
Anthropic scales its operations team alongside research headcount and funding milestones. Applying when the company announces new product lines or research initiatives increases the likelihood that Business Operations headcount is actively open and hiring managers have sponsorship budget approved.
Prepare your credentials before starting interviews
Gather degree certificates, official transcripts, and any professional certifications before your first interview. For H-1B petitions, USCIS may request a credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S. Having a recognized evaluation from a NACES-member organization ready prevents delays after an offer.
Search Business Operations roles at Anthropic on Migrate Mate
Filter for Business Operations openings at Anthropic on Migrate Mate to see only roles where sponsorship is actively available. This removes the guesswork of identifying which job listings will support a visa petition before you invest time in applying.

Find Business Operations at Anthropic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, which means sponsorship isn't limited to engineering or research positions. If the role requires a specialty occupation degree and you qualify, Anthropic can initiate the H-1B petition process on your behalf after an offer is extended.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Anthropic?
Applications go through Anthropic's careers page. The process typically involves a recruiter screen, a take-home or case-based assessment relevant to the specific operations function, and several rounds of interviews with cross-functional stakeholders. Raise visa sponsorship requirements early in the recruiter screen so both sides can confirm fit before investing further in the process.
Which visa types does Anthropic sponsor for Business Operations roles?
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Business Operations positions. H-1B covers most international candidates but requires winning the annual lottery. H-1B1 is available only to Singaporean and Chilean nationals and bypasses the lottery. E-3 is available to Australian citizens and also bypasses the lottery, making it a faster path to authorization.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Business Operations candidates?
Anthropic looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, or a technical discipline, combined with demonstrated experience supporting complex, fast-moving organizations. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree field should align with the specific role function. Experience in a research, technology, or similarly high-complexity environment carries more weight than general corporate operations backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from Anthropic?
Timeline depends on the visa type. E-3 consular processing for Australian candidates typically runs two to six weeks from LCA certification to visa issuance. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing take three to six months, though premium processing reduces USCIS adjudication to about 15 business days. If you're changing status from within the U.S., factor in additional processing time before your start date. Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles and confirm sponsorship availability before starting the application process.
