Align your credentials with CPA expectations
Aprio's Finance roles typically require or strongly prefer CPA licensure or active candidacy. If your accounting credentials are from outside the U.S., get a foreign credential evaluation completed before applying so you can address equivalency questions directly in your interview.
Target roles where PERM labor certification applies
Aprio has sponsored through employment-based Green Card categories, which require PERM. Finance roles involving specialized tax, audit, or advisory work are more likely to support a PERM filing than generalist positions, so focus your search on technical finance functions.
Search Aprio Finance openings on Migrate Mate
Aprio posts Finance roles across multiple locations and functions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Aprio positions that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not wasting time on postings that won't support your immigration status.
Ask about sponsorship scope during early conversations
Accounting firms often distinguish between supporting an H-1B transfer and initiating a new PERM process. In your recruiter screen, ask directly whether the role supports both nonimmigrant status maintenance and long-term Green Card sponsorship, not just one or the other.
Prepare your immigration timeline before receiving an offer
If you're on OPT or a visa with a fixed end date, map out your timeline before negotiations start. PERM labor certification alone can take 12 to 18 months, and knowing your runway helps you ask informed questions about when Aprio would initiate the process.
Verify Aprio's E-Verify participation before starting
As a condition of employment, confirm that your hiring entity is enrolled in E-Verify. For F-1 OPT extensions under STEM, your employer must be an active E-Verify participant. This is a DOL and DHS requirement that needs to be confirmed before your first day, not after.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aprio sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Aprio has a history of employer-sponsored immigration for Finance positions, but their documented sponsorship activity is concentrated in employment-based Green Card categories rather than new H-1B visa cap filings. If you already hold H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to Aprio is more straightforward than initiating a new H-1B petition from scratch. Confirm the specific sponsorship scope with your recruiter early in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Finance roles at Aprio?
For Finance professionals at Aprio, the most relevant visa categories are the H-1B for specialty occupation work and employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 for roles requiring an advanced degree or exceptional ability, and EB-3 for positions requiring a bachelor's degree and professional experience. The right category depends on your educational background, the specific role, and the prevailing wage determination DOL requires for PERM certification.
What qualifications are expected for Finance positions at Aprio?
Aprio's Finance roles generally require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with CPA licensure or active candidacy preferred for client-facing or audit positions. For senior or specialized roles in tax advisory or transaction services, a master's degree or prior public accounting experience at a regional or national firm strengthens your application considerably. Specific technical skills vary by practice area.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at Aprio?
You can browse and apply for Finance roles at Aprio directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify Aprio postings that explicitly support international candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific practice area, whether audit, tax, or advisory, and address your work authorization status clearly in your cover materials.
How do I plan around the timeline for Aprio's sponsorship process?
If Aprio initiates a PERM labor certification for your Green Card, plan for a process that can span one to two years before you even reach the I-140 petition stage, with additional wait times depending on your country of birth and the applicable visa preference category. Starting this conversation during offer negotiation, rather than after you've been onboarded, gives you and Aprio time to align on when the filing process would begin relative to your current visa status.
