Frame your experience around cloud-led growth
Atlassian's Business Development roles center on cloud migration, partner ecosystems, and enterprise expansion. Tailor your resume and interviews to show pipeline ownership and cross-functional collaboration in SaaS or platform environments, not just relationship management.
Search DOL LCA disclosures to verify sponsorship history
Before your first interview, search the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center for Atlassian's Labor Condition Application filings under Business Development job titles. This confirms the roles and locations where sponsorship has historically been filed.
Align your offer timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration typically opens in March for an October 1 start. Structure your offer conversations at Atlassian so onboarding aligns with that window, not against it.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Atlassian posts Business Development positions across multiple teams and geographies. Use Migrate Mate to filter these openings by the visa type you need, so you apply to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing.
Prepare for specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS requires that H-1B petitions demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For Business Development positions, gather degree credentials, any NACES or equivalent evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S., and documentation tying your field of study to the specific role.

Find Business Development at Atlassian JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Atlassian sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Atlassian sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company has a consistent track record of filing petitions across its go-to-market and partnerships functions. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing your offer around the USCIS registration window in March is the most critical planning step.
Which visa types does Atlassian commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Atlassian sponsors H-1B visas for most international Business Development candidates and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, the company also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications are expected for Business Development roles at Atlassian?
Atlassian's Business Development roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field, along with experience in SaaS partnerships, enterprise sales cycles, or cloud solutions. For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, so a directly relevant degree strengthens your petition significantly.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Atlassian?
Browse open Business Development positions on Atlassian's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles that offer your required visa sponsorship type. When applying, highlight experience with cloud products, partner ecosystems, or enterprise accounts, and be upfront with recruiters about your visa status early in the process.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Atlassian?
For cap-subject H-1B candidates, work backward from October 1, the earliest start date after selection. USCIS registration opens in March, so you need an offer and filed petition before then. E-3 candidates have more flexibility since there's no lottery, but consular appointment wait times in Australia currently range from two to eight weeks depending on location.
