The CSU Libraries supports the academic mission of Colorado State University by striving to provide equitable access to knowledges that empower expansive learning, intellectual growth, and joyful discovery for a sustainable, thriving planet and flourishing communities. We partner with people on their journey to academic success, community engagement, and excellence in research, creative artistry, and scholarship. Together, we navigate and evaluate information and knowledge systems, illuminate varied lived experiences, discover possibilities, and labor toward a more equitable and just society.

With CSU's research expenditures of $622 million in 2025, this is an incredible time to join a team addressing some of the biggest challenges affecting our community and the world.

RSOS Librarians provide research library services while partnering with faculty, graduate students, and researchers to support open access, research impact, artificial intelligence, data visualization, data management, and reproducible research practices.

Key areas of support include supporting compliance with funder and institutional data policies and advancing ethical and inclusive data practices through the application of the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics) Principles. The position works proactively with researchers on data-intensive projects, providing guidance on data quality, documentation, sharing, and long-term stewardship.

Does Colorado State University sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Colorado State University sponsors H-1B visas and is one of the more active sponsors in the higher education sector. Sponsorship is most common for faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and professional staff in specialized roles. CSU works through its Office of International Programs to manage petitions, so candidates should engage that office early in the hiring process.
Which visa types does Colorado State University sponsor?
CSU sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. This breadth reflects the university's international workforce across faculty, research, and administrative functions. The right visa type depends on your role, nationality, and immigration goals, the hiring department and CSU's international office can help identify the best fit.
Which departments or roles at Colorado State University are most likely to sponsor visas?
Research-intensive departments across STEM fields, the College of Agricultural Sciences, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and CSU's various research institutes tend to have the highest sponsorship activity. Faculty positions, postdoctoral appointments, and research scientist roles are the most common sponsored positions. Administrative and professional staff roles in specialized fields are also sponsored, though less frequently.
How do I time my application to maximize my chances of H-1B sponsorship at CSU?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March, with selections made shortly after. CSU needs time to prepare petition documents before that deadline, so targeting roles in the fall or early winter of the prior year gives the hiring team adequate runway. Cap-exempt roles at CSU, such as certain research positions, can be filed year-round, making timing less critical for those.
How do I find open jobs at Colorado State University that offer visa sponsorship?
CSU posts openings through its official careers portal, but listings don't always specify which roles support visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface employers with verified sponsorship histories, so you can browse CSU jobs knowing the platform has already validated their track record. Filtering by employer and visa type saves significant time compared to applying and asking about sponsorship later in the process.
