Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at Corewell Health Jobs
Get your credentials evaluated before applying
International nursing degrees require a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before USCIS will accept them. Complete this step early, as evaluations can take several weeks and Corewell Health will need verified equivalency before advancing your application.
Obtain NCLEX licensure before your interview
Corewell Health hires nurses into licensed positions, so passing the NCLEX and holding an active Michigan RN license strengthens your candidacy significantly. Sponsorship conversations typically happen faster once you can demonstrate you're already licensed to practice in the state.
Target high-volume specialty units when searching
Corewell Health consistently posts openings across critical care, medical-surgical, and perioperative nursing. Focusing your applications on these units increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager who has an active staffing need and budget to support sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to find Corewell Health nursing openings
Search Corewell Health nursing roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. The platform surfaces positions where sponsorship has been offered before, saving you the time of applying broadly and waiting to ask about immigration support later in the process.
Ask HR to clarify the EB-3 timeline during the offer stage
Healthcare employers frequently sponsor nurses through the EB-3 Green Card pathway, which involves PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS adjudication. Asking Corewell Health's HR team about their PERM filing process at the offer stage helps you set realistic expectations about permanent residency timelines.
File H-1B paperwork before your OPT or grace period expires
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT to H-1B, your 60-day grace period after OPT expiration does not extend your work authorization. Confirm with Corewell Health's immigration counsel that your I-129 petition is filed and receipted before your current status lapses.

Find Nursing at Corewell Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Corewell Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Corewell Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualified nursing candidates. Nursing roles generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards when the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field. You'll need an active RN license in Michigan and a verified credential evaluation if your degree was earned outside the United States.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Corewell Health?
Applications go through Corewell Health's careers portal, where you can filter by specialty and location. To find roles where visa sponsorship has previously been offered, browse Corewell Health's nursing positions on Migrate Mate. Once you apply, the process typically includes a phone screen, a panel interview with unit leadership, and a reference check before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does Corewell Health commonly use for Nursing roles?
Corewell Health sponsors nurses through both the H-1B nonimmigrant visa and employment-based Green Card pathways, most commonly EB-2 and EB-3. For permanent residency, the EB-3 route with PERM labor certification through the DOL is the most frequently used pathway in healthcare. The right option depends on your qualifications, degree level, and how quickly you need work authorization.
What qualifications does Corewell Health expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Most sponsored nursing roles at Corewell Health require an active Michigan RN license, a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or higher, and relevant clinical experience in the specialty you're applying to. For international applicants, a NACES-approved credential evaluation confirming U.S. degree equivalency is required before USCIS will process a sponsorship petition. Specialized certifications like CCRN or BLS strengthen applications for competitive units.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Corewell Health?
From initial application to having an approved H-1B petition, expect a process spanning several months at minimum. PERM labor certification for an EB-3 Green Card typically adds one to two years before USCIS adjudication begins. If you're already in valid H-1B status with another employer, Corewell Health can file an H-1B transfer, allowing you to start work once USCIS issues a receipt notice rather than waiting for full approval.
