About The Team
The Customer Experience team serves as a foundational operations pillar at DoorDash, dedicated to resolving friction within the last mile. We architect and oversee an expansive global network of support centers, obsessing over the user journey to ensure every interaction is seamless and reliable. Our mission is to scale a best-in-class support infrastructure that advocates for our community and delivers excellence at the lowest level of detail.
About The Role
DoorDash is looking for a Director of Customer Experience Strategy & Operations to define and scale the operating systems that shape how consumers, Dashers, and our broader marketplace experience DoorDash. This leader will own a broad portfolio across customer experience strategy, support operations, policies and processes, safety-critical contact handling, and cross-functional CX initiatives across business lines including New Verticals, International, Dasher, Marketplace, and DashPass. You will lead a high-performing S&O team, partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Fraud, Operations, and senior business leaders, and translate ambiguous customer and operational problems into scalable solutions. We are especially excited about leaders who bring an AI-native operating mindset: people who have used AI, automation, lightweight tooling, or internal apps to solve real problems, improve team productivity, and redesign manual workflows. This role is an opportunity to apply that builder mindset at marketplace scale.
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…
- Define the vision, metrics, and operating principles for a best-in-class customer experience across consumers, Dashers, and emerging business lines.
- Lead a high-impact S&O team responsible for turning defining the customer experience using a multitude of inputs.
- Redesign how CX work gets done by combining people, process, product, data, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Fraud, Marketplace, New Verticals, International, Dasher, and DashPass teams to shape the experience across DoorDash’s most important audiences.
- Operate from strategy to lowest-level detail: setting executive-level direction while staying close to data, user journeys, case reviews, and frontline operational reality.
- Build and scale new processes, tools, and mechanisms that improve quality, reduce friction, and help teams move faster.
We’re Excited About You Because…
- You have 10+ years of experience solving complex problems in strategy, operations, product operations, customer experience, marketplace operations, consulting, or a similarly analytical operating role.
- You are an AI-native operator - you have solved productivity problems and are able to dig into data quickly, and surface insights to translate to action.
- You are energized by working within a 24/7 global operations organization to scale new processes and initiatives.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and can scale yourself to work on different types of problems - from case reviews to setting high level vision and strategy.
- You have experience collaborating with multiple different types of stakeholders - from Product to Operations to Analytics.
- You have built, developed, and raised the bar for high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or Master’s Degree a plus.

Frame your credentials around scalable support operations
DoorDash evaluates Customer Service Leads on their ability to manage distributed teams and drive CSAT metrics at scale. Document specific examples of queue management, escalation handling, and cross-functional collaboration before you apply.
Target DoorDash's Merchant or Consumer support verticals
DoorDash's customer operations are divided by audience segment. Tailoring your application to a specific vertical, such as Merchant Experience or Consumer Support, signals role-fit and increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager with direct sponsorship authority.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
DoorDash sponsors several nonimmigrant categories including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Knowing which category applies to your nationality and background lets you address sponsorship logistics clearly when recruiters raise the question, rather than leaving it ambiguous late in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Customer Service Lead roles at DoorDash
Filtering by sponsorship-confirmed employers saves time and removes guesswork. Migrate Mate surfaces DoorDash's active Customer Service Lead openings alongside verified visa sponsorship data so you can apply to the right roles with the right context.
Understand how PERM applies to long-term sponsorship
If your goal is a Green Card through DoorDash, Customer Service Lead roles can support EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship via the PERM labor certification process. Confirm whether the specific role level meets the DOL's prevailing wage and educational requirements for your intended category.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS accepts petitions starting April 1 for an October 1 start. If you receive a DoorDash offer outside that window, confirm whether your current status allows a cap-exempt or OPT-bridged start to avoid a gap in authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Service Leads?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Service Lead roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the operational complexity and management responsibilities involved. Your employer will file Form I-129 with USCIS on your behalf. If you need a cap-subject H-1B, timing the offer around the annual April 1 filing window matters for your start date planning.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Service Lead roles at DoorDash?
The most common nonimmigrant categories for this role at DoorDash include H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT or CPT for eligible students. DoorDash also supports H-1B1 visa for Singaporean and Chilean nationals. For permanent residence, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are available depending on your qualifications and the role's requirements.
How do I apply for Customer Service Lead jobs at DoorDash?
You can browse and apply for Customer Service Lead positions at DoorDash through Migrate Mate, which aggregates DoorDash's active sponsorship-eligible openings in one place. When applying, emphasize measurable outcomes from previous support leadership roles, such as team performance improvements or process changes that reduced handle time. DoorDash's recruiting process typically includes a recruiter screen, operational case study, and cross-functional panel interviews.
What qualifications and experience does DoorDash expect for a Customer Service Lead?
DoorDash generally looks for candidates with experience managing frontline customer service teams in a high-volume or tech-driven environment. Relevant backgrounds include operations management, workforce planning, and vendor or BPO oversight. Familiarity with support tooling such as Salesforce or Zendesk strengthens your application. A bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field is the baseline expectation for H-1B specialty occupation qualification.
How do I think about the timeline from job offer to work authorization at DoorDash?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. E-3 and TN petitions can be processed at a consulate in as little as a few weeks. H-1B standard processing currently runs three to five months with USCIS, while premium processing targets 15 business days. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date and whether a STEM extension or cap-gap provision covers you through the H-1B start date.
