Align your degree to PBA's faculty needs
E-3 requires a direct match between your degree field and the role. At Palm Beach Atlantic University, academic positions typically demand credentials in theology, business, nursing, or education. Check that your transcript reflects the specific discipline, not just a related area.
Target departments with ongoing hiring cycles
PBA's Schools of Nursing, Business, and Education hire more consistently than smaller departments. Focusing your applications on these units improves your chances of finding a manager familiar with E-3 sponsorship and willing to start the LCA process.
Raise E-3 early in the offer conversation
University HR teams often mistake E-3 for H-1B visa and assume a lottery is involved. Clarifying upfront that E-3 has no lottery, no cap issues, and a straightforward DOL filing process removes a common reason hiring managers hesitate.
Verify your role qualifies as specialty occupation
Not every university position meets the E-3 specialty occupation standard. Use O*NET to confirm your target job title requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles classified as general administration often fail this test.
Search LCA filings to confirm sponsorship history
Before investing time in the application process, use Migrate Mate to check Palm Beach Atlantic University's verified E-3 LCA filing history by role. This shows which job titles have been sponsored before and helps you target positions with a proven track record.
Request prevailing wage confirmation before signing
PBA must certify through DOL that your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your occupation in Palm Beach County before negotiating your offer.
Palm Beach Atlantic University E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Palm Beach Atlantic University sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Palm Beach Atlantic University sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian nationals. Sponsorship is tied to specific roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the position must require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Sponsorship is not automatic with every offer, so confirming HR's willingness early in the process matters.
Which roles at Palm Beach Atlantic University typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Faculty and professional staff positions in the Schools of Nursing, Education, and Business are the most common E-3 candidates at PBA. Roles in academic advising, research coordination, and specialized administrative functions can also qualify if the position requires a specific degree field. General support roles without a defined degree requirement rarely meet the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Palm Beach Atlantic University?
Once you have a written job offer, PBA's HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you apply for the E-3 visa at a U.S. consulate in Australia. You can use Migrate Mate to handle the filing, which assigns a dedicated E-3 expert and manages the LCA and application paperwork on your behalf.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Palm Beach Atlantic University?
The DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days. Consulate appointment availability in Australia is the main variable, with Sydney and Melbourne wait times ranging from a few weeks to several months depending on the time of year. Building at least six to eight weeks of lead time between your offer and your intended start date gives the process enough room to complete.
How do I find open E-3 positions at Palm Beach Atlantic University?
Check PBA's official careers page for active postings, then cross-reference roles against USCIS specialty occupation criteria before applying. Focusing on departments within the Schools of Nursing, Education, and Business improves your odds of finding a sponsor-ready hiring manager. Reaching out directly to department heads with E-3 eligibility already explained can accelerate the conversation.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Palm Beach Atlantic University?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
