EPAM Systems brings together capabilities that few firms can match: AI and generative AI, cloud engineering, data and analytics, platform modernization, cybersecurity, and customer experience — all built to handle the complexity and compliance demands that define the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.
This is a role for a hunter. A relationship builder who also knows how to close. Someone who carries genuine credibility inside pharma and life sciences organizations, knows the players, understands the pressures they're under, and can walk into a room and immediately speak their language. You'll come in with a network, activate it, and grow it — while never losing your appetite for the next logo.
There's no team to manage here. What there is: a world-class services portfolio, strong internal support from some of the best engineering and consulting talent in the industry, and a real greenfield opportunity in a vertical that is in the middle of a once-in-a-generation technology transformation. If that sounds like the kind of platform you've been looking for — and you have the track record to back it up — we'd love to hear from you!
This is a remote role with approximately 25% travel to engage clients and internal stakeholders across the US.
Req# 988813151
Responsibilities
- Hunt and close net new business across pharma, biotech, medtech and life sciences accounts — new logos and expansion within existing strategic relationships
- Leverage your existing network and industry relationships to generate a pipeline from day one while continuously building new ones
- Position EPAM's full services portfolio — including AI and generative AI, cloud, data and analytics, engineering and modernization, cybersecurity and CX — as the answer to each client's most pressing transformation challenges
- Build, execute and continuously refine account plans and pursuit strategies tailored to the dynamics of life sciences enterprise buying cycles
- Engage decision-makers at every level of a client organization, from practitioner to C-suite, building the kind of trust that wins multi-year, multi-discipline engagements
- Orchestrate complex, multi-service RFP and RFI responses by pulling together EPAM's internal technical, delivery and solution experts around a compelling unified narrative
- Collaborate with EPAM's technology alliance partners — including hyperscalers and platform vendors — to identify and accelerate co-sell opportunities within your accounts
- Maintain an accurate, well-qualified pipeline and forecast with discipline — you know what's real, what's at risk and what needs attention
- Stay ahead of the market: track emerging trends in AI adoption, regulatory technology, clinical data platforms and digital R&D and bring that intelligence into every client conversation
- Build your internal network at EPAM quickly — understand the firm's capabilities, case studies and value propositions deeply enough to sell them with conviction
Requirements
- Deep, genuine expertise in the pharma and/or life sciences industry — you understand the business, the buyers, the regulatory environment and the technology pressures shaping the sector in 2026
- An established network of relationships with technology and digital leaders inside life sciences enterprises — CDOs, CIOs, CTOs, VPs of Engineering or equivalent — that you can activate
- A proven track record of hunting and closing enterprise IT services, AI or digital transformation deals — not just managing inherited accounts or responding to inbound
- Experience selling complex, multi-discipline technology engagements — consulting, engineering, cloud, data and/or AI — in a matrixed, solutions-led environment
- The ability to build a compelling transformation vision for enterprise clients and connect it credibly to delivered outcomes — you sell business value not SOWs
- Strong commercial instincts and negotiation skills — you structure deals well, protect margin and know when to push and when to flex
- Demonstrated success orchestrating pursuit teams across technical, delivery and executive stakeholders to win competitive deals
- Experience navigating and leading RFP/RFI responses with discipline — qualifying hard, resourcing appropriately and driving to win
- Comfort operating in a matrixed global organization — you build internal allies as effectively as external ones and know how to get things done without a playbook
- Familiarity with technology trends shaping life sciences: agentic AI, generative AI, clinical data modernization, regulatory-grade AI governance, digital twins and cloud-native R&D platforms
- Bilingual candidates (English/French or English/Spanish) are a plus

Align your stack with EPAM's delivery model
EPAM builds engineering teams around client delivery, so specializations in Java, Python, cloud platforms, or data engineering tend to get the most traction. Tailor your resume to reflect project-based work and the specific technologies EPAM repeatedly posts in its Software Engineer listings.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before applying
EPAM sponsors multiple visa categories, so confirm early whether your current status qualifies for the path you need. F-1 OPT candidates should note CPT and OPT timelines carefully, since USCIS processing windows affect when a petition can be filed relative to your employment start date.
Target EPAM's competency-based interview process
EPAM uses structured technical assessments tied to their internal competency framework. Prepare for multi-stage coding evaluations and system design rounds. Passing these early stages is what gets you to the offer stage where immigration discussions begin, so treat them as your first sponsorship hurdle.
Understand the LCA requirement before your offer letter
Before EPAM can file your H-1B petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming prevailing wage compliance for your specific role and work location. If you're relocating to a new city for the job, the LCA must reflect that location, which affects timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Software Engineer roles at EPAM
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on postings that exclude sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter directly for EPAM Software Engineer roles that include visa sponsorship, so every application you send is to an opening that's actually within reach.
Prepare your academic credentials for specialty occupation review
H-1B approval for Software Engineer roles requires USCIS to confirm the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. A computer science or engineering degree strengthens that case. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization before EPAM begins the petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does EPAM Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, EPAM Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineers. The company has an active immigration program and routinely files H-1B petitions for qualifying roles. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing matters, so you'll want to align your offer timeline with the registration window that opens in March each year.
Which visa types does EPAM Systems commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
EPAM sponsors H-1B visas for most full-time Software Engineer hires and supports Green Card pathways, typically through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship, for longer-term employees. The company also works with F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from university programs, and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at EPAM Systems?
Applications go through EPAM's careers portal, where roles are listed by region, technology stack, and seniority level. Filtering by location and skill set helps narrow to relevant openings. To find specifically the Software Engineer roles at EPAM that include visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse and filter those postings directly without sorting through listings that exclude sponsored applicants.
What qualifications does EPAM Systems expect for sponsored Software Engineer positions?
EPAM typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, which also supports the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires for H-1B approval. Beyond credentials, EPAM's hiring process emphasizes demonstrable technical depth, so hands-on experience with relevant languages, frameworks, or cloud platforms carries significant weight in getting through their competency assessments.
How do I plan my timeline if I need EPAM to sponsor my H-1B?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March, with petitions filed in April and an October 1 start date for approved cases. If you're on F-1 OPT, you'll need your OPT to cover you through at least October 1 of the target year. Engage EPAM's HR team early about your status so they can coordinate the LCA filing with DOL before the petition window opens.
