Align your credentials to consulting deliverables
FTI's Manufacturing Engineer roles often support client-facing project work, not internal production lines. Frame your resume around process improvement outcomes, cost analysis, and cross-functional delivery rather than plant operations or equipment maintenance.
Confirm your visa type fits consulting project travel
Consulting roles frequently involve multi-state client deployments. TN and E-3 holders should verify that extended client-site assignments don't conflict with their authorized work location, since USCIS scrutinizes itinerant roles during H-1B and TN adjudications.
Request LCA details before accepting an offer
Ask your FTI recruiter for the prevailing wage level on the Labor Condition Application before signing. DOL wage levels affect whether your offer is competitive in your assigned worksite's metro area, which matters if you're comparing multiple offers.
Time your OPT application against FTI's hiring cycle
FTI recruits Manufacturing Engineers on a rolling basis, but campus-facing pipelines often close earlier than lateral hiring does. If your OPT authorization window is tight, prioritize applying to open lateral roles rather than waiting for a structured recruiting cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to filter FTI Manufacturing Engineer openings
Searching broadly for consulting engineering roles buries sponsorship-friendly listings. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for FTI Manufacturing Engineer positions verified for visa sponsorship, so you're applying to openings where the pathway already exists.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting a Green Card
FTI sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for this function, which requires a full PERM labor certification. Gather your degree transcripts, foreign credential evaluations, and prior employment records before your first year ends so your employer's attorneys can move without delays.

Find Manufacturing Engineer at FTI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does FTI sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, FTI sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineer roles. The company has a documented sponsorship history for this function across both initial H-1B petitions and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Because FTI operates in consulting, your petition will need to clearly establish that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specific engineering degree field.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at FTI?
Apply directly through FTI's careers portal or find verified sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where FTI has an active visa sponsorship track record. When applying, tailor your materials to reflect consulting-style deliverables such as process analysis, client reporting, and cross-functional project execution rather than purely production-floor experience.
Which visa types does FTI commonly use for Manufacturing Engineers?
FTI sponsors a wide range of visa categories for this role, including H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 for work authorization, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for permanent residence. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage. Australian citizens should evaluate the E-3 pathway, and Canadian or Mexican nationals should assess TN eligibility against the USMCA engineer classification.
What qualifications does FTI expect for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
FTI typically targets candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. For visa purposes, your degree must directly correspond to the role's duties, which USCIS evaluates under the specialty occupation standard. Consulting-relevant skills like Lean, Six Sigma, or process simulation tools strengthen both your candidacy and your sponsorship petition by reinforcing the specialized nature of the work.
How do I think about timing if I'm on OPT and targeting FTI?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your authorization window and the H-1B cap lottery timeline are the two constraints to plan around. H-1B cap filings open in March for an October 1 start date. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you're selected in the lottery, a STEM OPT extension can bridge the gap, provided your degree qualifies. Confirm your STEM eligibility with your DSO well before applying to FTI.
