Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding IT Support Jobs at Humana
Align your certifications to Humana's stack
Humana's IT Support roles frequently cite ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory in job postings. Holding current certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals makes your application competitive before the sponsorship conversation starts.
Target roles labeled as direct hire
Humana's enterprise IT support positions are more likely to lead to sponsorship than contractor or vendor-staffed roles. Filter your search for full-time, direct-hire postings where Humana is the employer of record, not a staffing intermediary.
Use Migrate Mate to find open IT Support roles at Humana
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Humana IT Support jobs that come with visa sponsorship. Search by visa type to surface roles that match your current status, whether that's OPT, H-1B, or TN.
Address your OPT timeline early in conversations
If you're on F-1 OPT with less than six months remaining, raise the H-1B sponsorship question before the offer stage. Humana's HR team needs lead time to prepare an I-129 petition and LCA filing with DOL before your authorization expires.
Understand how PERM affects your green card timeline
IT Support roles at Humana typically require PERM labor certification before an EB-2 or EB-3 petition can be filed. PERM processing at DOL currently runs 12 to 18 months, so start that conversation well before you feel urgency around your status.
Prepare documentation that proves specialized domain knowledge
For H-1B specialty occupation petitions, USCIS scrutinizes IT Support roles more than software engineering positions. Document any healthcare IT experience, HIPAA compliance training, or enterprise-scale environment work to strengthen the specialty occupation argument.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for IT Support roles?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for IT Support professionals. Because USCIS applies heightened scrutiny to specialty occupation claims for support roles, your petition is strongest when the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, and your background reflects that directly.
Which visa types does Humana commonly use for IT Support positions?
Humana's IT Support sponsorship activity spans H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT, along with EB-2 and EB-3 pathways for permanent residence. TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose IT Support role maps to an eligible USMCA occupation category. OPT and CPT can cover early-career or internship placements.
What qualifications does Humana expect for IT Support roles?
Most Humana IT Support postings require a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, along with experience in enterprise helpdesk environments. Familiarity with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow, Microsoft 365 administration, and healthcare IT systems such as HIPAA-compliant infrastructure is frequently cited. Relevant certifications strengthen candidacy significantly.
How do I apply for IT Support jobs at Humana?
Applications go through Humana's careers portal, where you can filter by job category and location. To find roles that include visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to browse Humana IT Support listings filtered by your specific visa type. Once you identify a match, apply directly through Humana's portal and note your work authorization status clearly in your application materials.
How do I plan the timeline if Humana agrees to sponsor my H-1B?
The H-1B cap lottery opens each March for an October 1 start date. Your employer needs to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting an I-129 petition to USCIS. If you're on OPT that expires before October 1, a timely Cap-Gap extension may bridge the gap automatically, but only if your OPT employer filed the petition before your OPT end date.
