Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires Lead Management roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the position. Highlight how your business, operations, or healthcare administration degree connects specifically to the pipeline and CRM responsibilities in the job description.
Target Humana's enterprise operations divisions first
Humana's Lead Management openings tend to cluster in divisions handling Medicare, Medicaid, and group benefits pipelines. Filtering your search to these business units puts you in front of hiring managers who regularly work with international candidates and understand the sponsorship process.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Lead Management openings
Humana's sponsorship-eligible roles aren't always flagged on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Lead Management positions at Humana that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not wasting applications on roles that won't support your status.
Clarify your OPT or TN timeline before the offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, Humana's HR team will need to assess whether your remaining authorized period covers their onboarding timeline. Know your I-94 expiration and OPT end date before the offer conversation so there's no gap that stalls the process.
Ask specifically about PERM labor certification timelines
Humana sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for select Lead Management roles, but PERM requires DOL-supervised recruitment before filing. Ask during the offer negotiation whether the role is designated for permanent sponsorship and what their typical PERM initiation timeline looks like post-hire.
Prepare documentation showing cross-functional leadership scope
Lead Management at Humana often spans multiple business units, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument for H-1B purposes. Gather performance reviews, org charts, or project documentation that demonstrate you've led structured pipelines across departments, not just administered a single team's workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for Lead Managements?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for Lead Management roles. The role needs to meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, which means the position must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like business administration, healthcare management, or a related discipline. Humana has an established sponsorship process, and their HR teams in benefits and enterprise operations divisions are experienced with H-1B filings.
How do I apply for Lead Management jobs at Humana?
You can apply directly through Humana's careers portal or find sponsorship-eligible openings through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect CRM strategy, pipeline oversight, and cross-functional coordination, since those are the core competencies Humana screens for in Lead Management candidates. Following up with the recruiter to confirm sponsorship eligibility early saves time.
Which visa types does Humana commonly use for Lead Management roles?
Humana supports multiple visa categories for Lead Management positions, including H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or professional roles), F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time roles, J-1 visa for eligible exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for permanent sponsorship. The appropriate category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Humana expect for Lead Management positions?
Humana typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, operations management, or a related field, combined with demonstrated experience managing lead pipelines or CRM platforms in a large enterprise environment. Familiarity with healthcare industry workflows, particularly Medicare or Medicaid operations, is a practical advantage. Roles at senior levels may expect prior experience coordinating across distributed teams or business units.
How do I plan my timeline if Humana agrees to sponsor my H-1B?
If you're starting from F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap-subject lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so Humana would need to file your registration by late March. That means your offer and onboarding timeline should be in place by February at the latest. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Humana can file an H-1B transfer and you can begin working once USCIS receives the petition, without waiting for approval.
