Align your credentials with NETA standards
Field Services Engineers at IPS work on electrical testing and power equipment in manufacturing environments. Certifications like NETA ETT or ATP signal hands-on competency and reduce employer uncertainty about your readiness to work independently on client sites.
Target IPS service centers near industrial hubs
IPS operates regional service centers supporting heavy manufacturing customers. Applying to locations near auto, steel, or chemical manufacturing corridors increases your odds, since those centers carry heavier field workloads and more consistent hiring demand for this role.
Address travel requirements in your application directly
Field Services Engineers at IPS often travel to customer facilities on short notice. If you're on OPT or CPT, clarify in your cover letter that your work authorization permits travel across state lines, since employers sometimes mistakenly assume visa restrictions prevent this.
Confirm TN eligibility before your interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals can qualify for TN status as engineers without a separate USCIS petition. Verify your specific engineering degree aligns with DOL's TN engineer category criteria, since misclassification at the border can delay your start date.
Time your H-1B petition around IPS's hiring cycle
If IPS extends you an offer requiring H-1B sponsorship, the April 1 USCIS filing window is non-negotiable. Negotiate a start date that accounts for the October 1 cap-subject validity date so both sides are aligned before you sign anything.
Use Migrate Mate to find open IPS Field Services roles
IPS posts Field Services Engineer openings across multiple locations, and availability shifts regularly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for IPS roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on postings that won't support your status.

Find Field Services Engineer at Integrated Power Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Integrated Power Services sponsor H-1B visas for Field Services Engineers?
Yes, Integrated Power Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Field Services Engineers. Because this is a hands-on, site-based role in industrial power services, IPS typically sponsors candidates who already have a relevant engineering degree and demonstrable field experience. If you're cap-subject, your offer needs to be in place before USCIS's April filing window to target an October 1 start.
How do I apply for Field Services Engineer jobs at Integrated Power Services?
You can apply directly through the IPS careers page or find visa-sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate. When applying, emphasize hands-on experience with electrical rotating equipment, transformer testing, or switchgear, since IPS Field Services Engineers support manufacturing customers directly. Tailor your resume to reflect field service environments rather than purely office-based engineering roles.
Which visa types are commonly used for Field Services Engineer roles at Integrated Power Services?
IPS has sponsored H-1B visas for this role and accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT, which is relevant for recent engineering graduates completing practical training. TN status is also an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering degrees. Each visa type has distinct authorization periods and renewal paths, so factor that into your timeline planning.
What qualifications does Integrated Power Services expect for Field Services Engineers?
IPS generally looks for a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, along with practical experience working on industrial power systems, motors, generators, or transformers. Familiarity with manufacturing environments is a meaningful differentiator. NETA certification, field service experience, and comfort with regional travel to customer sites strengthen your profile significantly for this role.
How do I think about visa timing when pursuing a Field Services Engineer offer at IPS?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, work backward from USCIS's April 1 filing deadline and the October 1 start date. OPT and CPT candidates should confirm their authorization end dates before accepting an offer and factor in STEM OPT extension timelines if applicable. TN candidates can move faster since DOL-backed TN petitions don't follow the same annual cap cycle as H-1B.
