Job Description
The Senior Direct Investment Manager is a hands-on, strategic role responsible for the execution, performance, and growth of Direct Buys and Affiliate Partnerships for our client in the insurance industry. Acting as both operator and integrator, this individual ensures campaigns are effectively planned, executed, and optimized to drive measurable business outcomes in a highly regulated financial services environment.
This role plays a critical part in building and managing relationships with premium publishers, (d)OOH vendors, and a diverse network of affiliate partners (such as NerdWallet and Forbes). Working seamlessly across a dual-stack tracking ecosystem (Impact and Everflow) and in close partnership with internal strategy, planning, and paid media teams, this person ensures cohesive execution and strong performance across all direct investment channels. You will collaborate with Media Strategy, Planning, Paid Media, Analytics, and Client teams.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the technical nuances of long-cycle lead generation, acts as a strict gatekeeper for audience quality, and brings a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
This is a hybrid position based out of our NYC office. The salary range for the role is between $85,000-110,000 USD, annually and final offer is dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Accountability
- Own performance across direct media and affiliate partnerships, serving as the primary point of accountability.
- Translate complex strategies into clear, actionable plans for clients and internal teams.
- Define KPIs and measurement frameworks to track and improve performance across a delayed underwriting/conversion cycle.
- Operate independently, making informed decisions and driving outcomes with minimal oversight.
Partner Strategy, Vetting & Growth
- Manage and grow key affiliate and publisher partnerships (e.g., NerdWallet, Forbes), leveraging both Impact (for content creators) and Everflow (for lead aggregators).
- Act as a strategic audience gatekeeper, ensuring all onboarded partners align strictly with our core demographic profiles (e.g., middle-class households, family decision-makers, and grandmothers) rather than generic traffic.
- Proactively source, evaluate, and onboard new partners to unlock incremental growth while maintaining strict brand safety.
- Lead or support partner negotiations, contracting, and commercial structuring to protect media efficiency.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and bring forward new ideas across Premium Publishers (including CTV) and (d)OOH.
Campaign Execution, Compliance & Optimization
- Own end-to-end campaign execution, from setup through ongoing optimization.
- Oversee complex tracking infrastructure, ensuring accurate tracking of delayed offline conversions, Server-to-Server (S2S) routing, and postback mechanics.
- Enforce strict regulatory compliance, auditing partner content to ensure adherence to approved life insurance claims, disclosures, and pricing.
- Monitor performance closely, identifying opportunities to improve lead quality (CPQL) and scale.
- Manage budget pacing and ensure alignment with client goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with media strategy, planning, paid media, and analytics teams to share insights on publisher quality and backend lead validity.
- Ensure alignment across teams to drive cohesive execution and maximize impact.
Client Leadership
- Serve as a senior, client-facing lead for direct investment and partnership strategies.
- Lead client meetings, clearly communicating performance, technical stack recommendations, and insights.
- Deliver clear, data-driven reporting with actionable insights, translating complex affiliate data into executive summaries.
Success Measures
- Performance Efficiency: Achieve or exceed client spend and performance targets across direct buys and affiliate networks, ensuring budget pacing aligns with client objectives.
- Operational & Technical Excellence: Maintain clean tracking and reporting across the Everflow and Impact platforms, successfully managing the integration of offline/delayed conversion data.
- Compliance & Brand Safety: Ensure zero regulatory breaches by maintaining strict oversight of publisher messaging and audience alignment.
- Client Satisfaction & Retention: Drive proactive performance insights, ensuring high client confidence in direct media strategies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, and execution, particularly in large-scale, multi-market campaigns.
- Proven track record of managing enterprise affiliate partnerships (such as NerdWallet and Forbes).
- Hands-on experience navigating complex or dual-stack partnership platforms (specifically Impact and Everflow).
- Deep expertise in the technical affiliate ecosystem, including Server-to-Server (S2S) tracking, delayed offline conversion windows, publisher models, and commission structures.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, insurance, education) with longer sales cycles is highly preferred.
- A data-focused mindset with a sharp ability to vet publishers based on specific audience demographic criteria.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically, balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on technical execution.
Note: We emphasize skills, expertise and behavioral attributes over years of experience and traditional degrees. If you want to join our collaborative team, we invite you to apply today with your resume in English.

Frame your portfolio around measurable client outcomes
Jellyfish evaluates Business Managers on revenue growth and client retention. When preparing your resume, quantify how you grew accounts or improved retention rates. Generic project lists won't differentiate you in a performance-driven agency environment.
Target Jellyfish's integrated service accounts
Jellyfish wins large clients who need managed services across paid media, SEO, and analytics. Roles tied to those accounts are more likely to justify sponsorship than project-based positions, so tailor your outreach toward their enterprise client teams.
Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires Business Manager roles to meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning a specific bachelor's degree must be a normal requirement. A degree in marketing, business, or communications paired with demonstrated client management experience strengthens that argument considerably.
Time your application around LCA certification windows
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. DOL certification can take up to seven business days, so build that into your expected offer-to-filing timeline before the April 1 cap-subject filing window.
Find open Business Manager roles through Migrate Mate
Searching broadly across job boards surfaces roles where sponsorship is unclear. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Business Manager openings at Jellyfish that are tied to confirmed H-1B sponsorship history, so you apply where your effort is most likely to convert.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Some agencies sponsor cap-subject H-1B filings but decline to cover premium processing or attorney fees. Before signing, confirm in writing whether Jellyfish will cover USCIS filing fees and whether premium processing is included, since timelines directly affect your start date.

Find Business Manager at Jellyfish JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jellyfish sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Jellyfish has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The company operates in a specialized marketing and advertising environment where client-facing roles often meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, particularly when the position requires a degree in marketing, business, or a closely related field. Confirming sponsorship intent directly with the hiring team before advancing through interviews is the most reliable approach.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Manager roles at Jellyfish?
The H-1B is the primary visa category used for Business Manager roles at Jellyfish. For candidates from Australia, the E-3 is worth raising with the recruiter as an alternative, since it follows a similar specialty occupation standard but bypasses the H-1B lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals should ask about TN eligibility under the USMCA, though Business Manager classifications under TN are narrow and require careful evaluation.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Business Manager roles at Jellyfish?
Jellyfish typically looks for Business Managers with agency-side experience managing complex, multi-channel client accounts across paid media, SEO, or programmatic advertising. A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or communications is the baseline credential. Demonstrated ability to grow revenue within existing accounts and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams is weighted heavily, since the role bridges client strategy and internal execution.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Jellyfish?
You can browse current Business Manager openings at Jellyfish through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles tied to confirmed visa sponsorship history so you can apply with confidence. When applying, tailor your application to highlight client retention outcomes and cross-channel campaign management rather than general marketing credentials. Reaching out directly to Jellyfish's talent acquisition team after submitting can also accelerate your application, particularly for roles tied to named client accounts.
How do I understand the H-1B filing timeline if I receive an offer from Jellyfish?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your employer can only file your petition during the first five business days of April for an October 1 start date. USCIS runs a lottery if registrations exceed the 85,000 annual cap. Your employer first needs a certified LCA from DOL, which can take up to seven business days. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Jellyfish can file a transfer petition at any time under portability rules.
