Frame credentials around energy regulatory frameworks
Kiewit's Compliance roles in energy often require familiarity with FERC, NERC, or EPA regulations. Tailor your resume and credentials to show direct exposure to these frameworks before applying, not just general compliance experience.
Target roles requiring specialty occupation documentation
For H-1B sponsorship, your Compliance role must qualify as a specialty occupation. Roles tied to environmental law, regulatory affairs, or energy policy have stronger petition foundations than generalist compliance titles, so apply accordingly.
Research Kiewit's project pipeline before outreach
Kiewit staffs Compliance professionals around active construction and energy infrastructure projects. Review publicly available contract awards and project announcements to time your application when relevant regional roles are opening.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Kiewit Compliance openings
Not every Kiewit job posting signals sponsorship eligibility clearly. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Compliance openings at Kiewit filtered by visa type, so you only spend time on roles where your status is a fit.
Clarify LCA obligations during the offer negotiation stage
Before signing, confirm that your employer's Labor Condition Application with DOL covers your specific worksite location. Kiewit operates across multiple states and project sites, and your LCA must reflect where you'll physically work.

Does Kiewit sponsor H-1B visas for Compliance roles?
Yes, Kiewit has a history of H-1B sponsorship across multiple functions, including Compliance. For sponsorship to apply, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Compliance positions tied to regulatory affairs, environmental law, or energy policy tend to meet this bar more reliably than generalist titles.
How do I apply for Compliance jobs at Kiewit?
Applications go through Kiewit's careers portal, where Compliance roles are listed by business unit and location. Before applying, confirm the role aligns with your visa type, since not every posting includes sponsorship details upfront. Migrate Mate filters Kiewit's open Compliance positions by visa sponsorship eligibility, which helps you identify the right roles before investing time in an application.
Which visa types does Kiewit commonly use for Compliance hires?
Kiewit sponsors a range of visa types for Compliance professionals, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories, and F-1 OPT or CPT for recent graduates. For candidates pursuing longer-term pathways, Kiewit has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Compliance positions in the energy sector.
What qualifications does Kiewit expect for Compliance roles in energy?
Kiewit's energy Compliance roles typically require a background in environmental science, law, engineering, or a related regulatory discipline. Familiarity with FERC, NERC, or EPA compliance frameworks is a common expectation, as is experience supporting compliance programs on large infrastructure projects. For senior roles, prior experience managing audits, regulatory filings, or environmental permits adds significant weight to your application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Compliance role at Kiewit?
Timelines depend on your visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes three to five months, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. TN status can be obtained at the Canadian or Mexican border on the day of entry. If Kiewit pursues a Green Card through PERM, expect DOL processing alone to take at least 12 months before USCIS steps begin.
