INTRODUCTION
Midwestern University, College of Health Sciences, invites applications for the part-time (.6 FTE) position of Assistant Professor within the APA accredited Clinical Psychology Program on the Glendale, AZ Campus. The Clinical Psychology Program adheres to a practitioner-scholar model of training and awards a Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) to students who complete the program. The Program operates on a quarter system and students typically complete their training, including a pre-doctoral Internship, within four years. The Program also offers an optional Neuropsychology track and Health Psychology track for students interested in training in one of these major areas of study. Because Midwestern University offers degree opportunities in several graduate-level health care related areas, clinical students are afforded many opportunities to develop skills in integrated health and interdisciplinary collaboration.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Professor is expected to teach courses in psychological testing/assessment in the general curriculum and contribute to the oversight and advisement (including dissertation mentorship) for students in the program’s neuropsychology concentration. There may also be opportunities to teach neuropsychology courses. Department faculty also periodically provide supervision coverage of our students at our Psychology Clinic at the university’s Therapy Institute. Salary and benefits are competitive.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be eligible for this position, the candidate should be a graduate of an APA-accredited clinical psychology program (Psy.D. or Ph.D.). Candidates must be licensed as a psychologist, or be eligible to obtain a license, in the state of Arizona. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated relevant experience in graduate level teaching, clinical practice, and research.
