Frame your credentials around solution selling
Motorola Solutions prioritizes Business Development candidates who can articulate ROI for complex technology systems, not just relationship management. Tailor your resume to show deal cycles, stakeholder alignment, and outcome metrics relevant to manufacturing and public safety procurement.
Target roles tied to government and enterprise verticals
Motorola Solutions' Business Development pipeline skews toward government agency contracts and enterprise accounts. Prioritize open roles mentioning these verticals, as they tend to reflect sustained hiring demand and are more likely to come with structured onboarding that supports visa filing.
Clarify sponsorship scope before your final interview round
Ask directly whether the role supports H-1B transfers or new cap-subject filings. Motorola Solutions sponsors across multiple visa types, but individual hiring managers may not know which applies to your situation. Get clarity from HR before accepting any offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship openings
Search for Business Development roles at Motorola Solutions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions with confirmed sponsorship history. This saves time you'd otherwise spend chasing openings with no documented visa support at this employer.
Understand how LCA prevailing wage affects your offer negotiation
DOL requires Motorola Solutions to certify your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and work location before filing an H-1B petition. Request the Level II or Level III wage determination for your specific job title so you can negotiate from an informed position.
Time your application around the H-1B cap filing window
If you're on F-1 OPT and need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start. Motorola Solutions would need to submit your petition after a lottery selection, so targeting a role three to six months before the registration window opens is the practical approach.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Motorola Solutions sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Motorola Solutions sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company has an established process for handling both new cap-subject H-1B petitions and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Sponsorship availability can vary by role and location, so confirming directly with the recruiting team during the interview process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Motorola Solutions?
You can browse and apply for Business Development positions directly through Motorola Solutions' careers portal. For candidates who need visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point, as it surfaces verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Motorola Solutions so you can prioritize roles with confirmed support before investing time in the application process.
Which visa types does Motorola Solutions commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Motorola Solutions sponsors several visa categories for Business Development professionals, including H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican citizens), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage, so the offer and onboarding process typically includes a conversation with immigration counsel.
What qualifications and experience does Motorola Solutions expect for Business Development roles?
Motorola Solutions generally looks for Business Development candidates with experience in technology sales, enterprise account management, or public safety solutions. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is typically required, and many roles expect familiarity with government procurement processes or long-cycle B2B sales. Demonstrated experience closing complex deals in manufacturing or technology environments strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development offer at Motorola Solutions?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can move within a few weeks with USCIS premium processing. New cap-subject H-1B petitions are tied to the annual April filing window and an October 1 start date, creating a gap of several months. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to three years or longer depending on your priority date and country of birth.
