Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Phlebotomist Jobs at Quest Diagnostics Jobs
Obtain a Nationally Recognized Phlebotomy Certification
Quest Diagnostics prioritizes candidates credentialed through ASCP, NHA, or AMT before extending offers. Securing certification early positions you as immediately hire-ready and removes a common barrier that delays sponsorship conversations for clinical support roles.
Target Patient Service Center Postings Directly
Quest operates hundreds of patient service centers across the U.S., and hiring often happens at the regional level. Filtering job searches by specific states or metro areas where Quest has dense center networks increases your chances of landing a role open to sponsorship.
Clarify OPT STEM Extension Eligibility Early
Phlebotomy roles are typically classified under non-STEM SOC codes, meaning F-1 OPT holders generally receive the standard 12-month work authorization period. Confirm your timeline with your DSO before accepting an offer so Quest's HR team can plan the H-1B filing window accurately.
Understand Quest's PERM Labor Certification Path
For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, Quest must complete a PERM recruitment process through DOL before filing your immigrant petition. This process takes many months, so raise long-term permanent residency goals during offer negotiations rather than after your first year.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Quest Phlebotomist Openings
Not every Quest posting openly advertises visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to surface Phlebotomist roles at Quest Diagnostics that are verified for sponsorship, saving you time spent on applications that will stall at the offer stage.
Confirm E-Verify Enrollment Before Accepting Any Offer
Quest Diagnostics participates in E-Verify as a federal contractor, which is required to confirm work authorization for all new hires. Verify this enrollment status before your start date so your I-9 process runs without delays that could affect your clinical onboarding schedule.

Does Quest Diagnostics sponsor H-1B visas for Phlebotomists?
Yes, Quest Diagnostics has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Phlebotomist roles. Sponsorship is most common for candidates who already hold a nationally recognized phlebotomy certification such as ASCP or NHA, have prior clinical draw experience, and are transitioning from F-1 OPT. Sponsorship decisions are made at the regional hiring level, so outcomes can vary by location.
How do I apply for Phlebotomist jobs at Quest Diagnostics?
You can browse and apply for Phlebotomist openings directly through Quest Diagnostics' careers portal, filtering by location and job category. For a faster path to roles confirmed for visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate curates Quest Diagnostics listings verified for international candidates, so you're not spending time on postings that won't support your immigration needs.
Which visa types does Quest Diagnostics commonly use for Phlebotomist roles?
Quest Diagnostics most commonly supports H-1B sponsorship for Phlebotomists, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing clinical programs. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Quest has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process. TN visa holders who are Canadian or Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare occupations may also be considered depending on the specific role classification.
What qualifications does Quest Diagnostics expect for Phlebotomist roles?
Quest Diagnostics generally expects candidates to hold a phlebotomy certification from ASCP, NHA, or AMT, along with documented venipuncture experience, often a minimum of one year in a clinical or patient-facing setting. Some regional postings also require experience with pediatric draws or high-volume outpatient environments. A high school diploma or equivalent is the standard educational baseline, though clinical training program completion strengthens applications significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take for a Phlebotomist at Quest Diagnostics?
For H-1B sponsorship, Quest must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the USCIS petition. Standard USCIS processing runs several months, though premium processing is available for faster adjudication. If Quest is pursuing EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the PERM labor certification phase alone can take six months to over a year before the immigrant petition is even filed. Planning ahead with your hiring contact is essential.
