Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Registered Nurse Jobs at Sharp HealthCare Jobs
Get Your NCLEX and State License Ready
Sharp HealthCare requires active California RN licensure before any offer moves forward. Start the NCLEX application and California Board of Registered Nursing endorsement process early, as state processing alone can take several months.
Target Specialty Units With Chronic Shortages
Sharp consistently recruits for critical care, med-surg, and emergency departments across its eight hospitals. Applying directly to high-demand units increases your odds of reaching a hiring manager willing to initiate sponsorship paperwork for the right candidate.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Registered Nurse openings at Sharp HealthCare by visa type so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed, not just hoped for. It saves you from wasting time on postings with no sponsorship pathway.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
When Sharp extends a conditional offer, confirm in writing whether they'll cover H-1B filing fees, premium processing, and attorney costs. Healthcare employers vary widely on this, and knowing upfront protects you from unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.
Align Your OPT or TN Timeline With Hiring Cycles
F-1 OPT authorization for nursing roles under SOC 29-1141 qualifies for STEM extension only if your program meets STEM criteria, which most traditional nursing programs don't. Confirm your OPT end date against Sharp's typical 90-day onboarding timeline before accepting.
Understand the H-1B Cap and Sharp's Filing Window
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're negotiating a start date with Sharp, build backward from October 1 so your offer letter, LCA certification through DOL, and I-129 filing all land within USCIS's required window.

Find Registered Nurse at Sharp HealthCare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sharp HealthCare sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Sharp HealthCare has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Nursing roles qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules because they require at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific unit and hiring manager, so confirming sponsorship intent early in the recruitment process is essential.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Sharp HealthCare?
Applications go through Sharp's careers portal at sharp.com/careers. You can also browse verified Registered Nurse openings at Sharp filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which shows only roles where sponsorship has been confirmed. Have your California RN license number or application receipt ready, as most postings require it at the application stage.
Which visa types does Sharp HealthCare commonly use for Registered Nurse roles?
Sharp HealthCare has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses and accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and TN status. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican RNs under the USMCA professional category for nurses. Each pathway has different requirements, so your choice depends on your nationality, degree, and how quickly you need to start.
What qualifications does Sharp HealthCare expect from Registered Nurse candidates?
Sharp requires a valid California RN license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for most sponsored roles, and BLS certification at minimum, with ACLS or PALS depending on the unit. Prior acute care experience in a U.S.-equivalent hospital setting is strongly preferred, particularly for critical care and emergency positions where sponsorship is more likely.
How do I plan my timeline if I'm pursuing H-1B sponsorship at Sharp HealthCare?
H-1B cap-subject filings have an October 1 start date, with USCIS registration opening in March. Working backward, you'd want an offer in hand by January or February to allow time for DOL Labor Condition Application certification, which takes seven business days under standard processing. Starting interviews in the fall for the following lottery cycle gives you the most realistic runway.
