Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B approval for Operations roles in chemicals manufacturing hinges on demonstrating a direct link between your degree field and the specific role. A degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or materials science maps cleanly. General business degrees require stronger supporting documentation.
Target Sika's manufacturing and plant locations
Sika operates production facilities across the U.S., and most Operations openings are site-specific rather than remote. Searching by location, not just title, surfaces roles with active sponsorship history that broader keyword searches miss.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Operations openings
Browse Sika's current Operations postings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which tracks sponsorship-verified roles so you're not guessing which listings are open to international candidates.
Clarify LCA timing before your start date
Sika must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. For Operations roles with fixed shift schedules or plant start dates, confirm your employer's intended filing timeline early so LCA certification doesn't delay your first day.
Request OPT STEM extension eligibility early for F-1 candidates
Operations roles in chemicals and materials manufacturing often qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension. Confirm your role's SOC code with Sika's HR team before your initial OPT expires, since USCIS requires the extension application to be filed before your current EAD runs out.
Prepare for PERM documentation if pursuing a Green Card
Sika has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 pathways for Operations staff. PERM requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were available. Keep records of your performance reviews and any specialized process or materials knowledge that supports the prevailing wage and role specificity requirements.

Find Operations at Sika JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sika sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Sika sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Operations positions. Roles in production management, process engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain at Sika's U.S. manufacturing sites have supported H-1B petitions. Sponsorship is most consistent for positions that meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria, meaning the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical or scientific field.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Sika?
Apply directly through Sika's careers portal, filtering by function and U.S. location. Many Operations openings are site-specific, so searching by state or facility narrows results to active roles. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Sika's sponsorship-verified Operations postings in one place, which helps confirm upfront whether a role is open to international candidates before you apply.
Which visa types does Sika commonly use for Operations positions?
Sika has sponsored H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Operations roles. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering and scientific occupations. F-1 CPT is typically used for internships or co-ops in plant or process operations before full-time conversion.
What qualifications does Sika expect for Operations roles requiring visa sponsorship?
Most sponsored Operations roles at Sika require a bachelor's degree or higher in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, quality systems such as ISO or Six Sigma, or supply chain platforms strengthens your application. Roles involving specialty chemicals or construction materials often expect familiarity with OSHA compliance and process safety management.
How do I time my application around H-1B filing deadlines?
H-1B registration opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer needs to submit your petition before your OPT expires or within the cap-gap protection window. For Sika Operations roles with plant-based start dates, aligning your offer letter timeline with the USCIS H-1B registration window, typically late February to mid-March, avoids a gap in work authorization.
