Align your portfolio to Snowflake's stack
Snowflake's Architectural Engineer roles emphasize distributed systems, cloud-native design, and data platform architecture. Before applying, document projects involving large-scale cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP to directly match what their hiring teams evaluate.
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree field must align directly with architectural engineering or a closely related discipline. A degree in civil, structural, or systems engineering typically satisfies this, but a general technology degree may draw scrutiny.
Target Snowflake's platform engineering teams specifically
Snowflake posts Architectural Engineer openings across platform, enterprise, and solutions divisions. Roles within their core platform organization are more likely to involve deep technical work that supports a stronger specialty occupation argument during H-1B adjudication than client-facing hybrid positions.
Understand the LCA before your offer stage
Before Snowflake can file your H-1B petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your worksite location. Snowflake's Bay Area and Seattle offices sit in high prevailing wage areas, which affects offer negotiations.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Architectural Engineer roles
Filtering by role and sponsorship history saves significant time in your search. Migrate Mate surfaces Architectural Engineer openings at Snowflake that are actively open to sponsored candidates, so you're not applying blind to roles that won't support your visa.
Request clarity on Cap-Subject versus Cap-Exempt filing
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT or another cap-subject status, confirm with your Snowflake recruiter whether they plan to file in the annual H-1B lottery or pursue a cap-exempt pathway. Knowing this early lets you plan your OPT end date and any bridge period accordingly.

Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Architectural Engineers?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Architectural Engineer roles. Snowflake is a large technology employer with established immigration infrastructure, and engineering functions like architectural engineering consistently fall within the specialty occupation category USCIS requires for H-1B approval. You should confirm sponsorship intent with your recruiter early in the process, as individual team budgets can vary.
How do I apply for Architectural Engineer jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where Architectural Engineer roles are listed under engineering or platform divisions. To find openings filtered specifically for visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse current Architectural Engineer positions at Snowflake alongside their sponsorship track record, saving you time before you apply through official channels.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly sponsor for Architectural Engineer roles?
Snowflake sponsors multiple visa categories for engineering talent, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, J-1, and immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and current immigration status. Confirming which options apply to you before your offer stage prevents delays.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for Architectural Engineer roles?
Snowflake's Architectural Engineer positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience designing large-scale distributed systems or cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is expected. Senior-level roles often require prior experience in enterprise software environments and the ability to lead cross-functional technical design decisions.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a Snowflake Architectural Engineer offer?
The standard H-1B process involves a DOL Labor Condition Application certification, which takes around seven business days, followed by USCIS petition review. Regular processing can take three to six months after filing. If you're on F-1 OPT with an expiring work authorization, Snowflake may file for premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days, though this depends on the hiring team's timeline and budget.
