Get Your CDL Before Applying
Most Sunbelt Driver roles require a Commercial Driver's License, often with specific endorsements for heavy equipment. Securing your CDL before submitting applications removes a major hiring barrier and signals you're ready to work from day one.
Target Branches Near Active Construction Markets
Sunbelt operates hundreds of locations, but branches near high-growth construction corridors have the most consistent Driver demand. Filtering your search by region rather than applying broadly improves your odds of landing a role with real sponsorship potential.
Confirm Sponsorship Eligibility During Screening
Sunbelt sponsors select visa categories for Driver positions, including TN and F-1 OPT. Ask directly during your initial recruiter call whether the specific branch and role support the visa type you need, since sponsorship decisions often vary by location.
Align Your OPT Start Date With Hiring Cycles
Sunbelt's Driver hiring tends to accelerate in spring ahead of peak construction season. If you're on F-1 OPT, timing your application so your authorized period covers that ramp-up window reduces the risk of an employment gap that could affect your status.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Driver Openings
Searching for sponsoring employers manually is slow and unreliable. Use Migrate Mate to filter Driver jobs at Sunbelt Rentals by visa type, so you only apply to roles where sponsorship has been verified for your specific situation.
Prepare DOL-Compliant Work History Documentation
For EB-3 or PERM-based sponsorship, the DOL requires detailed records of your prior driving experience and any relevant certifications. Organize logbooks, past employer letters, and license records before the offer stage so the PERM filing process doesn't stall on your end.

Find Driver at Sunbelt Rentals JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sunbelt Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Drivers?
Sunbelt Rentals does not typically sponsor H-1B visas for Driver roles. H-1B visas are reserved for specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, and Driver positions generally do not meet that threshold. Sunbelt's sponsorship for Driver roles is more commonly associated with employment-based Green Card pathways and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals.
Which visa types are commonly used for Driver roles at Sunbelt Rentals?
Driver roles at Sunbelt Rentals are most commonly supported through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in relevant programs, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupational categories. TN is often the fastest path if you hold citizenship in Canada or Mexico and meet the role requirements.
What qualifications or experience does Sunbelt Rentals expect for Driver roles?
Sunbelt Rentals typically looks for candidates with a valid Commercial Driver's License, a clean driving record, and experience operating or transporting heavy or industrial equipment. Familiarity with DOT safety regulations and equipment inspection procedures is a practical advantage. Some locations require specific CDL endorsements depending on the weight class and type of machinery being transported.
How do I apply for Driver jobs at Sunbelt Rentals?
You can browse and apply for Driver openings at Sunbelt Rentals directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When you apply, make sure your resume highlights your CDL class, relevant endorsements, and any hands-on experience with construction or industrial equipment rentals, since those details are what Sunbelt's hiring teams screen for first.
How long does the sponsorship and visa process take for a Driver role at Sunbelt Rentals?
Timeline depends on the visa category. TN visas for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border in a single day if your documentation is complete. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS typically takes two to three months from application, so apply well before your program end date. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process and requires the employer to initiate the DOL labor certification before any USCIS filing begins.
