Responsibilities
The NP or PA will provide direct patient care to Hematology and Oncology patients throughout the continuum of treatment, including:
- Conducting follow-up visits and routine patient evaluations
- Seeing patients throughout chemotherapy and treatment regimens
- Managing urgent and same-day sick visits
- Providing survivorship and post-treatment care
- Delivering comprehensive symptom management and supportive care
- Educating patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and care plans
- Collaborating closely with physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Supporting patients in achieving their treatment goals and maintaining quality of life
- Performing bone marrow biopsies, if desired and appropriately credentialed
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–2 years of Hematology/Oncology or Internal Medicine experience
- Experience managing complex medical conditions and chronic disease
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Active California NP or PA license (or ability to obtain)
