Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Account Representative Jobs at Sysco Jobs
Align your degree with sales qualifications
Sysco's Account Representative roles typically require a business, marketing, or related degree. If your credential is from outside the U.S., get a formal evaluation done before applying so hiring managers can immediately confirm eligibility for sponsored roles.
Target Sysco's regional distribution markets
Sysco hires Account Representatives across dozens of regional operating companies, not just corporate. Applying to locations in food-service-heavy markets like Texas, Florida, and the Southeast increases your chances of finding a branch actively building its sales team.
Extend OPT early for continuity during hiring
If you're on F-1 OPT, starting your STEM extension application with USCIS at least 90 days before your current authorization expires protects your work eligibility through Sysco's multi-stage interview and offer process, which can take several weeks.
Clarify Green Card pathway expectations upfront
Sysco has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for sales roles. During offer negotiations, ask directly whether the sponsoring operating company uses outside immigration counsel and what the expected PERM labor certification timeline looks like before signing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship openings
Many Account Representative listings at Sysco don't explicitly advertise sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter Sysco openings by verified visa sponsorship history so you're applying to the roles where international candidates have actually been sponsored.
Prepare TN documentation before a final-round interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals in business or management fields may qualify for TN status for Account Representative roles. Have your degree certificates and a support letter outlining the professional nature of the role ready before your final interview, since TN can be processed quickly at the border once an offer is extended.

Find Account Representative at Sysco JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sysco sponsor H-1B visas for Account Representatives?
Sysco's verified sponsorship history for Account Representative roles centers on employment-based Green Card petitions (EB-2 and EB-3) and student work authorization such as F-1 OPT and CPT, rather than H-1B cap sponsorship. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, clarify this directly with the specific Sysco operating company making the offer, as practices can vary by location.
Which visa types are commonly used for Account Representative roles at Sysco?
The most common pathways for Account Representative roles at Sysco include F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates still within their student authorization window, TN status for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals, and employment-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 petitions for longer-term hires. Each pathway has different eligibility requirements and timelines, so confirming which applies to your situation before accepting an offer is important.
What qualifications and experience does Sysco expect for Account Representative roles?
Sysco typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with demonstrated ability in client-facing or sales environments. Experience in food service, hospitality, or distribution is a strong differentiator. Account Representatives are expected to manage a territory independently, so prior experience with CRM tools and outside sales is commonly referenced in job postings.
How do I apply for Account Representative jobs at Sysco?
Applications go through Sysco's careers portal, where openings are listed by operating company and region. Because not all listings explicitly state visa sponsorship availability, using Migrate Mate to identify Sysco Account Representative roles with a verified sponsorship history saves significant time. Once you find a relevant opening, apply directly through Sysco's portal and note your work authorization status in your application materials.
How do I know if a specific Sysco location will sponsor my visa?
Sysco operates through regional companies, and sponsorship decisions are made at the operating company level rather than centrally. The most reliable approach is to ask the recruiter directly during the initial screening call whether the role is open to candidates requiring sponsorship. For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways, confirm whether the local entity has immigration counsel and has completed PERM labor certification for similar roles previously.
