Frame Your Sales Experience Around SaaS Metrics
Thomson Reuters evaluates Sales Business Development candidates on ARR growth, pipeline conversion, and enterprise deal cycles. Quantify your B2B software sales results before applying so your resume speaks directly to how they measure performance.
Target Roles Tied to Core Product Lines
Focus your search on positions tied to Thomson Reuters' Westlaw, Checkpoint, or ONESOURCE platforms. These product lines drive the bulk of enterprise sales hiring and are where the company consistently builds out its business development headcount.
Ask About Sponsorship Timing During the Offer Stage
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, clarify whether Thomson Reuters will file early or bridge your status so you understand your actual start timeline.
Verify Your Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For Sales Business Development positions, this typically means the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business, marketing, or computer science. Confirm the job description reflects that requirement before signing.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Roles Efficiently
Sponsored Sales Business Development openings at Thomson Reuters don't always surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Thomson Reuters roles that align with your visa type and target the right positions before they close.
Prepare Your Credential Documents Before the LCA Stage
Thomson Reuters' legal or HR team will need your educational transcripts and employment verification letters to support the DOL Labor Condition Application. Having certified copies of your degree and past offer letters ready shortens the pre-petition timeline significantly.

Find Sales Business Development at Thomson Reuters JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Thomson Reuters sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Thomson Reuters sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. The company has an established process for filing H-1B petitions through its legal and HR teams. If you're cap-subject, your petition enters the annual lottery with an October 1 start date, so timing your offer relative to the March registration window matters.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Thomson Reuters?
Applications go through Thomson Reuters' careers portal, where roles are listed by product line and region. Search for titles like Business Development Representative, Sales Development Representative, or Enterprise Account Executive. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Thomson Reuters positions relevant to your work authorization situation.
Which visa types does Thomson Reuters commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Thomson Reuters primarily uses the H-1B for Sales Business Development hires requiring work authorization. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, the company has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which go through the PERM labor certification process with the DOL. The right pathway depends on your qualifications and the specific role's degree requirements.
What qualifications does Thomson Reuters expect for Sales Business Development positions?
Most Sales Business Development roles at Thomson Reuters require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with demonstrated B2B or SaaS sales experience. Enterprise-level roles often expect familiarity with legal, tax, or compliance technology. For H-1B purposes, the degree requirement in a specific field is what establishes the role as a qualifying specialty occupation under USCIS standards.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Thomson Reuters Sales Business Development offer?
From offer to work authorization, the timeline depends on which visa applies. An H-1B cap filing means waiting for the October 1 start date after a March lottery registration. If you're already H-1B eligible or transferring status, a transfer can move faster. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically runs 18 months or longer depending on your priority date and country of birth.
