Obtain your P&C license before applying
Most Property Casualty Insurance roles at USI require a state-issued P&C producer license. Getting licensed before you apply removes a common hiring blocker and signals to recruiters that you're ready to bill from day one.
Target USI's regional account management teams
USI staffs Property Casualty roles heavily at the regional level, not just corporate. Searching by metro area rather than headquarters surfaces open positions that never get visibility in national job boards.
Clarify your visa category during the screening call
E-3 and TN holders offer USI a faster, cheaper sponsorship path than H-1B. Naming your visa type early helps the recruiter loop in HR before an offer is drafted, avoiding delays caused by internal approval processes.
Align your experience to commercial lines verticals
USI wins business in construction, real estate, and healthcare. Framing your Property Casualty background around one of these verticals in your resume makes your profile easier to slot into an active book of business.
Confirm the LCA is filed before your start date
For E-3 and H-1B roles, the employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before you can begin work. Follow up with USI's HR team to confirm the LCA certification is in hand before you resign from any current position.
Use Migrate Mate to filter USI's open roles by visa type
USI carries a substantial number of open Property Casualty Insurance positions at any given time. Migrate Mate lets you filter those listings by the visa categories USI has sponsored, so you apply to roles where sponsorship is already an established practice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Property Casualty Insurance roles?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored H-1B visas for employees in insurance functions, though it is not among the highest-volume H-1B sponsors in the industry. Property Casualty Insurance roles tied to a specialty occupation, such as risk analyst or commercial lines underwriter, are more likely to qualify than generalist producer positions. Confirming sponsorship willingness directly with the recruiter early in the process is the most reliable approach.
Which visa types are commonly used for Property Casualty Insurance roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI has sponsored E-3 visas for Australian nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates completing insurance or business programs, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying occupational categories, and J-1 visas for exchange visitors. E-3 visa and TN visa are often the smoother paths because they do not require lottery selection and can be processed on a faster timeline than H-1B.
What qualifications does USI Insurance Services expect for Property Casualty Insurance positions?
USI typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field alongside a valid state P&C producer or broker license. Commercial lines experience in verticals like construction, healthcare, or real estate is a strong differentiator. For visa sponsorship, the role must meet the specialty occupation standard, which means the position should genuinely require a degree in a specific field rather than accepting any bachelor's degree.
How do I apply for Property Casualty Insurance jobs at USI Insurance Services?
You can browse and apply for Property Casualty Insurance openings at USI Insurance Services through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by the visa types USI has sponsored for this function. When you apply, state your visa status clearly in your cover letter or the application itself. USI's hiring process typically includes a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview focused on book of business experience, and a background and licensing check before an offer is extended.
How do I time my application to avoid gaps in work authorization at USI Insurance Services?
If you are transitioning from F-1 OPT, file your OPT extension or change of status application as early as USCIS allows, since processing can take several months. For E-3 or TN applicants, consular processing is generally faster, but the Labor Condition Application must be certified by the DOL before your visa interview. Aim to have all documentation ready at least 60 days before your intended start date to give USI's HR team enough lead time to complete the sponsorship filing.
