Target engineering and imaging science roles
Varex Imaging's core business is X-ray imaging components and detectors, so roles in electrical engineering, software development, and imaging physics have the strongest alignment with their H-1B and Green Card sponsorship history. Lead with technical depth in your application.
Highlight specialized medical device expertise
Varex operates in a highly regulated industry where specialized knowledge matters. Candidates with experience in FDA-regulated environments, medical imaging systems, or radiation detection technology are well-positioned, this specificity signals immediate value to their engineering teams.
Understand their TN and OPT pathways
Varex sponsors TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican professionals, and supports F-1 OPT for recent graduates. If you're early in your career or a Canadian or Mexican national, these can be faster entry points than waiting on H-1B cap season.
Engage with their sponsorship history before applying
Varex is a focused sponsor rather than a high-volume one, so researching which roles have historically received sponsorship sharpens your targeting. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history before investing time in an application.
Frame your Green Card readiness clearly
Varex has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, signaling they support long-term retention of technical talent. If you're looking for a path to permanent residence, address your long-term career goals with Varex directly, employers in this space value stable, experienced technical staff.
Apply early relative to H-1B cap deadlines
H-1B registrations open in March each year and petitions must be filed by April 1. Since Varex's sponsorship is selective rather than broad, making contact with their recruiting team well before January gives you the best chance of being included in their cap-season planning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Varex Imaging sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Varex Imaging sponsors H-1B visas. Their sponsorship is selective and concentrated in technical roles tied to their core business in X-ray imaging components and medical device development. Candidates with backgrounds in electrical engineering, imaging science, or software development are the strongest fit for H-1B consideration at Varex.
What visa types does Varex Imaging sponsor?
Varex Imaging sponsors H-1B and Green Card visas (EB-2 and EB-3 categories), along with TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals and F-1 OPT for recent graduates. This range means the company supports candidates at multiple career stages, from new graduates entering on OPT to experienced professionals seeking permanent residence.
Which roles at Varex Imaging are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Varex Imaging is concentrated in technical and engineering disciplines. Roles in electrical engineering, software engineering, imaging physics, detector design, and systems engineering align most closely with their product development focus. Regulatory affairs and quality engineering positions in their medical device operations have also historically been strong candidates for sponsorship consideration.
What is the typical sponsorship and hiring timeline at Varex Imaging?
For H-1B roles, the cap-subject petition window runs from April 1 to September 30 for an October 1 start date, so Varex typically begins recruiting and budgeting for sponsored roles in the December through February window. Green Card sponsorship usually begins after an employee has demonstrated strong performance, often one to two years into their tenure, and involves a PERM labor certification process that can take one to two additional years.
How do I find and apply for visa-sponsored jobs at Varex Imaging?
The most effective approach is to search for Varex Imaging on Migrate Mate, which aggregates and verifies employer sponsorship history so you can confirm active openings tied to real sponsorship data before applying. From there, apply directly through Varex's careers page and contact their recruiting team early, especially if you're planning around H-1B cap season, where lead time matters significantly.
