Summary
As a leader in connecting people with great local businesses, Yelp partners with a growing network of small and mid-size media agencies that provide advertising and marketing services on behalf of local businesses. These Channel Partners rely on Yelp's suite of APIs to build scalable, high-performing solutions for their clients.
We're seeking a motivated and technically sharp Sales Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource for Yelp's Channel Partner ecosystem. In this role, you'll work directly alongside Channel Partner sales reps and their agency clients to support the integration of Yelp's Reporting API, Leads API, and Ads API. You'll be the bridge between Yelp's technical capabilities and the scrappy, fast-moving agencies that depend on them to deliver results for local businesses.
We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. This is a full-time remote role based in the United States.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the primary technical sales resource for Yelp’s Channel Partner account reps, engaging agency clients throughout the API integration process from initial scoping to successful implementation.
- Guide small and mid-size media agencies through the setup and adoption of Yelp's Reporting API, Leads API, and Ads API, ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience.
- Work directly within technical environments to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
- Collaborate with Channel Partner GTM leadership to identify technical opportunities, remove blockers, and accelerate API adoption across the partner ecosystem.
- Act as the voice of the Channel Partner, surfacing recurring technical challenges and client feedback to Yelp's product and engineering teams to help prioritize improvements.
- Maintain and contribute to internal documentation and integration playbooks to ensure the team can scale its technical support capabilities.
What it takes to succeed:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a similar technical client-facing role, ideally working with small to mid-size businesses or agencies.
- Hands-on experience supporting API integrations, with a strong understanding of API best practices, authentication patterns, and common integration challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical agency stakeholders and collaborate effectively with sales teams.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset — you don't wait for a runbook to exist before solving a problem.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client integrations simultaneously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Experience coding in or working alongside teams using SQL, JavaScript, or similar languages.
Preferred experience:
- Familiarity with advertising or marketing APIs, particularly those involving reporting, lead management, or campaign management use cases.
- Experience working with or supporting media agencies or channel partners in a technical capacity.
- Exposure to middleware and no-code/low-code integration tools such as Zapier, Workato, or similar platforms.
- Prior experience in a channel or partner-facing role, where you were supporting a third party (e.g., an agency or reseller) rather than a direct end client.
- Comfort operating in a startup-like or high-growth environment where processes are still being built.
What you'll get:
- Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental
- 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday
- Up to 14 weeks of parental leave
- Monthly wellness subsidy
- Work from home reimbursement
- Flexible spending account
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Employee stock purchase plan
- Compensation range for this position is $106,000 - $179,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.

Frame your sales metrics in U.S. terms
Yelp's sales interviews are heavily quota-focused. Convert your performance data into U.S.-style metrics before you apply: ARR attained, percentage of quota, and average deal size in USD. Localized numbers land better with American hiring managers.
Target Yelp's SMB and mid-market teams
Yelp's highest-volume sales hiring sits in local business development and mid-market account executive roles. These teams run recurring hiring cycles, which means more available sponsorship slots than one-off senior openings that tend to be filled internally.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before negotiating your offer
If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 visa lets your employer file a Labor Condition Application with DOL and skip the H-1B lottery entirely. Raise your eligibility during offer conversations so Yelp's immigration counsel can begin the LCA process without delay.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Yelp sales openings
Search and filter verified visa-sponsoring sales roles at Yelp directly through Migrate Mate. You'll see which positions are actively posted and can prioritize applications to teams with the strongest sponsorship track records in this function.
Time your H-1B petition around Yelp's fiscal calendar
USCIS's H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year with an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer in Q4, confirm with Yelp's HR team whether they'll support the following April registration cycle or bridge you on another status in the interim.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
Yelp's sales roles are classified as specialty occupations under H-1B rules, which requires a qualifying bachelor's degree or its equivalent. If your credential is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before the offer stage.

Does Yelp sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Yelp sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying sales positions. To be eligible, the role must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Sales roles at Yelp that involve complex product solutions, analytics, or enterprise account management tend to meet this threshold more readily than entry-level business development positions.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Yelp?
You can apply directly through Yelp's careers page or find verified sponsorship-eligible openings through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to Yelp's quota-driven sales culture, emphasizing measurable outcomes and experience selling SaaS or advertising solutions to local or mid-market businesses.
Which visa types does Yelp typically use for Sales hires?
Yelp sponsors H-1B visas for most international sales hires and supports the E-3 visa for Australian citizens, which bypasses the H-1B lottery. For longer-term pathways, Yelp has also filed employer-sponsored Green Card petitions through EB-2 and EB-3 categories, which require PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does Yelp look for in Sales candidates who need visa sponsorship?
Yelp's sales teams look for candidates with experience in consultative or solution selling, ideally within SaaS, digital advertising, or local commerce. A bachelor's degree is required to support H-1B or E-3 classification. Demonstrated quota attainment, CRM proficiency, and familiarity with SMB or mid-market sales cycles strengthen both your candidacy and the specialty occupation case that Yelp's legal team will need to build.
How do I handle visa timing if I receive a Yelp sales offer outside the H-1B window?
If you receive an offer after the March H-1B registration window has closed, you have a few options. Yelp may bridge you on OPT, a cap-exempt H-1B if you qualify, or an E-3 if you're Australian. Otherwise, you'd register in the next March cycle with an October 1 start date. Confirm the timeline with Yelp's immigration counsel at the offer stage so both sides can plan accordingly.
