Compliance Program Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance program manager in New York?
Most compliance program managers in New York begin with a bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related field, then build several years of experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory affairs. There is no single state-issued license for this role, but employers in New York strongly favor candidates holding the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) credential or a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation for banking roles. Familiarity with New York Department of Financial Services rules is a meaningful differentiator for financial services positions.
How much do compliance program managers make in New York?
Compliance program managers in New York earn a median of about $90,080 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $53,330 for the lowest 10% to over $142,370 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance program managers in New York?
Employers hiring compliance program managers in New York right now include Amazon, EY, and Meta, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of global financial institutions, major hospital systems, and large technology firms means openings appear consistently across sectors rather than clustering in a single industry.
Which New York cities have the most compliance program manager jobs?
The largest concentrations of compliance program manager openings in New York are in New York, Albany, and Rochester. New York City dominates because it is home to the headquarters of major banks, asset managers, and insurance carriers whose compliance functions are staffed locally, while Albany draws demand from state government agencies and regulated utilities, and Buffalo benefits from growing financial services and healthcare employer bases in western New York.
Are there remote compliance program manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. Compliance program management is largely desk-based, making it well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 27% of compliance program manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed compliance teams. Policy development, training oversight, and audit coordination are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a compliance program manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a compliance analyst or regulatory affairs coordinator role at a New York financial institution or hospital system, where program managers are promoted from within. Large employers including major New York-area banks and academic medical centers run rotational compliance programs and structured associate tracks for recent graduates. A paralegal or internal audit background transfers well, and earning a CCEP or enrolling in a compliance certificate program through a New York university signals commitment to the field to hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to compliance program manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to compliance program manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across New York City, Albany, Buffalo, and the surrounding region. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to each one.
