We’re Hiring a Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team! This isn’t just an estimating role—it’s your opportunity to influence projects before they ever break ground.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented professional with 3-5 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor, strong analytical and organizational skills, and proficiency in conceptual estimating, value engineering, and construction delivery methods. The ideal candidate confidently reads construction drawings and specifications, communicates clearly with internal and external partners, and is confident using industry-standard estimating tools such as Bluebeam, OST, and Procore.

Job Summary/Purpose

Under limited supervision, manages pre-construction services and estimating functions for private commercial, retail, industrial, and hospitality projects to aid management in project bidding and performs related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

· Develops, leads, and manages cost estimates and construction schedules ranging from rough order of magnitude level to detailed working cost estimates.

· Produces detailed quantity takeoffs and prepares scopes of work for each trade.

· Reviews, interprets, and accurately estimates individual scopes of work as described in the project documents.

· Conducts subcontractor selection, buy-out and procurement.

· Conducts pre-bid meetings with operations personnel and subcontractors.

· Confers with engineers, architects, owners, and subcontractors and evaluates scope revisions and subcontractor change order estimates.

· May assist in the supervision of Estimator I bids.

· Performs a variety of special projects at the request of the management team.

· Coordinates insurance requirements, technical proposal requirements, and reviews constructability issues with appropriate staff members.

· Builds and foster current and future client relationships with the intention to generate new business for the company.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Thorough knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical concepts.

· Thorough knowledge of conceptual estimating, value engineering, project scheduling, and construction delivery methods.

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.

· Ability to proactively solve problems, negotiate and breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities with a focus on finding innovative solutions and using sound judgement.

· Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, analyze project specifications and drawings for constructability, conflicts, advanced planning.

· Effective time management skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and prioritize accordingly.

· Clear, concise, and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Skills in utilizing estimating technology and tools including computers and applicable software; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, engineering architecture or a closely related field, and three years of estimator experience in commercial general contracting setting. An equivalent combination of related education, training, and work experience may be considered.

· OSHA 10-Hour certification is required.

· Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483.

· Must pass a nation-wide background check and pre-employment drug test.

Desirable Qualifications

· Experience in general contracting, commercial and industrial ground up, and site improvements.

· Experience with computerized estimating systems, such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or Procore software.

· Duties are preformed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet. Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, indoors or outdoors, is required.

· Frequent sitting and operating a computer for extended periods of time; using repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands, or fingers; reaching with hands and arms; and walking, stooping, or kneeling.

· Vision to read computer screens, blueprints, printed documents, and video displays.

· Hearing and speech to communicate in-person, via video conference or over the telephone.

· Travel to work sites, client meetings and other business-related job sites.

· Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs. (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance)

· Ability to work in an office and field environment with some shift work outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/ or extended hours.
