Construction Jobs in Irving: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction job in Irving?
Focus your search on Las Colinas and the Urban Center, where commercial office, mixed-use, and hospitality construction projects drive consistent hiring. General contractors and specialty subcontractors working on Dallas-area infrastructure expansions also staff heavily out of Irving. Candidates with experience on large commercial sites or in concrete, electrical, or mechanical trades stand out in this market. Applying directly to project-based employers and regional contractors beats waiting for postings to circulate.
Which companies hire constructions in Irving?
Companies currently hiring constructions in Irving include QTS, DN, and Lennar, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Irving's employer mix leans toward regional general contractors, specialty trade firms, and corporate facility managers tied to the dense commercial and mixed-use development in Las Colinas.
Are there remote construction jobs in Irving?
Yes, but only for specific roles. Hands-on field work is inherently on-site, while construction project managers, estimators, and BIM coordinators may have remote or hybrid options. About 0% of construction openings tied to Irving are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, skewing toward desk-based and analytical functions. Estimating and scheduling roles tied to Irving's commercial development pipeline see the most flexible arrangements locally.
How can I get a construction job in Irving with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Irving is through a laborer or helper role with a general contractor or specialty subcontractor working on Las Colinas commercial or mixed-use projects. Local trade contractors hiring for concrete, framing, and MEP rough-in often bring on entry-level workers for project-duration positions that build site experience fast. Completing an OSHA 10-hour safety course before applying gives candidates a measurable edge, and Irving's proximity to major DFW construction activity means openings cycle frequently enough to find short-term crew work as a starting point.
