Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Operations Lead / Coordinator to oversee and streamline construction project activities from planning through completion. This role is essential in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by coordinating resources, managing schedules, supporting estimating efforts, and maintaining clear communication across all teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial construction experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to facilitate collaboration between the office, accounting, project management, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. This position will serve as a key connection point between departments, ensuring teams remain aligned, information is communicated effectively, and projects continue moving forward efficiently.
This role will play an important part in improving operational efficiency, supporting project planning, assisting with estimating activities, performing construction Takeoffs, reviewing project requirements, and helping drive successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support daily construction operations across multiple active projects
- Serve as a key point of coordination between accounting, project management, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure effective communication and alignment
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination from pre-construction through completion
- Perform material and labor takeoffs from construction plans
- Review construction plans, scopes of work, contracts, and project requirements to identify potential challenges and ensure proper execution
- Track project progress, schedules, materials, manpower, and overall project needs
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors regarding scheduling, deliveries, project requirements, and field activities
- Communicate project updates, timelines, and operational needs with clients in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with change orders, RFIs, billing support, cost tracking, and project documentation
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, and turnover requirements
- Assist in improving company processes, workflows, and communication systems to increase operational efficiency
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction operations, project coordination, estimating, or construction management
- Ability to perform accurate material and labor takeoffs from construction drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify issues and coordinate solutions
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
