Decorative Materials is looking for a Design Consultant to join our Denver showroom team. This is a sales-driven role for someone who knows how to build trust, develop lasting client relationships and grow a successful book of business within the world of high-end fixed finishes.
Decorative Materials is Colorado’s largest privately owned luxury tile and stone dealer, with showrooms in Denver, Edwards and Basalt, along with A&D libraries serving Telluride, Crested Butte and Steamboat Springs.
For 30 years, we’ve built our reputation on exceptional materials, deep industry knowledge, and an elevated level of service. We partner with many of Colorado’s leading designers, architects and builders on distinctive residential, hospitality and commercial projects throughout the state and beyond.
Our Design Consultants are more than product specialists. They are trusted sales partners who understand their clients, uncover opportunities, guide specifications and remain engaged throughout the life of a project. They bring together an appreciation for great design with the drive and accountability to achieve strong sales results.
If you’ve built your career in high-end, relationship-driven sales and are looking for an opportunity to bring those skills into the luxury fixed finishes industry, we’d love to meet you. Tile and stone experience is a plus, but strong sales instincts, curiosity and the desire to become an expert are equally important.
The Role
- Develop and grow a strong book of business with designers, architects, and builders
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales goals through a combination of existing account growth and new business development
- Proactively identify new clients, projects and opportunities within the market
- Work closely with clients to develop thoughtful material selections and specifications that support their overall design vision
- Own projects from initial selection through quoting, ordering, delivery and installation
- Maintain an active sales pipeline with consistent follow-up throughout long and complex project timelines
- Become a trusted product resource, confidently advising clients on design, technical and installation considerations
- Build Decorative Materials’ presence within Denver’s design community through client meetings, industry events, presentations, and ongoing relationship development
- Collaborate closely with our internal teams to deliver the level of service our clients expect from Decorative Materials
What We’re Looking For
- Proven success in luxury, consultative or relationship-driven sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to develop new business
- An appreciation for design, architecture and beautiful materials, with a strong eye for detail
- Polished, professional communication skills and the ability to connect comfortably with a wide range of clients
- Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and timelines
- Confidence, resourcefulness, and a strong sense of ownership
- A collaborative approach and an understanding that exceptional client service requires a strong team behind it
- Experience in luxury interiors, furnishings, fashion, jewelry, real estate, hospitality, construction, tile and stone or another high-touch sales environment is a plus
- College degree or equivalent professional experience
- Availability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., from our Denver showroom
Compensation + Benefits
Base salary + commission + bonus opportunity
- Decorative Materials offers an excellent benefits package, a beautiful and creative work environment and the opportunity to build a long-term career with an established, privately owned company.
- This is an opportunity for someone looking for more than a traditional retail sales role - someone who wants to develop their own business, become part of Denver’s design community and build lasting client relationships while working with exceptional materials and projects.

Consultant Jobs in Denver: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a consultant job in Denver?
Focus your search on Denver's strongest hiring sectors: management consulting, IT and technology services, and energy and infrastructure advisory. The Central Business District, LoDo, and the Denver Tech Center are where most firms are concentrated. Candidates who demonstrate project management experience, industry-specific credentials, and familiarity with the public-sector and federal contractor work common in Denver stand out from the field.
Which companies hire consultants in Denver?
Companies currently hiring consultants in Denver include WSP, Plante Moran, and Kaiser Permanente, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Denver's mix of large professional services firms, regional energy companies, and government contractors creates consistent consultant demand across both public and private sectors.
Are there remote consultant jobs in Denver?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of consulting. Strategy, analytics, and technology advisory roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while on-site client engagements require in-person presence. About 100% of consultant openings tied to Denver are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the highest remote share in IT and management consulting rather than facilities or operations roles.
How can I get a consultant job in Denver with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Denver is through analyst or associate roles at the regional offices of professional services firms or at one of the many federal contractors headquartered in the metro area. Entry-level project coordinator and junior analyst positions regularly open at technology consulting shops in the Denver Tech Center and at government-adjacent firms in the Capitol Hill corridor. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a quantitative field, combined with internship or co-op experience, makes candidates competitive for these roles.
Which industries hire the most consultants in Denver?
Most consultant openings in Denver sit in Staffing & Recruiting, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Denver's role as a regional hub for energy, aerospace, and federal contracting, alongside its growing technology sector, keeps demand for consultants consistently broad across both private firms and public-sector clients.
