Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller (Manufacturing Experience Needed) to oversee our Accounting and Finance department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a knack for strategic planning, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Controller, your key duties will include:
1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Supervising the accounting team and providing guidance and support.
3. Developing and implementing best practices for financial management and control.
4. Producing accurate and timely financial reports and presenting findings and recommendations to the management team.
5. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and statutory requirements.
6. Working closely with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
7. Managing the production of the annual budget and forecasts, and report variances.
8. Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
9. Monitoring debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
10. Overseeing the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations.
11. Managing any third parties to which financial functions have been outsourced.
12. Implementing and managing financial systems, including Oracle.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for the Controller role should have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Proficiency in using financial software, particularly Oracle.
4. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
6. Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
7. Adept at process improvements and systems implementation.
8. Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.
9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
11. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
