DevOps management in Florida does not require a state-issued license. The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, followed by several years of hands-on infrastructure or software delivery work. Florida employers across Tampa, Miami, and Orlando strongly favor candidates who have moved from senior DevOps engineer or platform lead roles and hold cloud certifications from AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure as evidence of technical depth before stepping into management.
How much do devops managers make in Florida?
Devops managers in Florida earn a median of about $108,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,660 for the lowest 10% to over $207,510 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.

Miami's concentration of financial services and Latin American headquarters drives demand in the south, Tampa's growing tech corridor and healthcare IT sector sustains steady hiring in the west, and Orlando's tourism technology, simulation, and defense industries anchor openings in central Florida, with smaller suburban markets like Lake Mary and Maitland contributing through regional corporate campuses.
Are there remote devops manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. DevOps management is heavily software and cloud-based, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 0% of devops manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how widely Florida technology employers have adopted distributed team models. Infrastructure strategy, pipeline governance, and vendor management are the parts of the role most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a devops manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a senior DevOps engineer, site reliability engineer, or cloud architect role into a team lead position at a mid-size Florida technology company or health system.
