Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in business or commerce is accepted as equivalent to a four-year U.S. degree for E-3 visa purposes. Make that equivalency explicit in your resume and cover letter so hiring managers don't flag it as a gap.
Target employers with DOL LCA filing history
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data to identify companies that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for operations or account management roles. Prior filings signal that the employer already understands the E-3 process and won't treat sponsorship as an obstacle.
Search for E-3 sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters roles by E-3 sponsorship readiness, so you're not cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with Australian visa requirements. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer.
Clarify the specialty occupation case before signing
Account Operations Manager roles vary widely. Before accepting an offer, confirm that the job description explicitly requires a degree in a specific field, not just 'a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.' USCIS evaluates specialty occupation at the role level, not the industry level.
Negotiate who covers the LCA filing timeline
The employer files the LCA with DOL before you can lodge your visa application. Certifications typically take seven business days. Build this into your start-date negotiation so neither side is surprised by the lead time between offer acceptance and your first day.
Prepare your nonimmigrant intent response before the consulate
Consular officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia after your E-3 period. Have clear, specific answers about your ties to Australia, such as property, family, or professional networks, ready before your visa interview in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
E-3 Visa Account Operations Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Account Operations Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Account Operations Manager roles where employers are already open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying to companies that have never heard of the E-3. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to Australian professionals, cutting out that guesswork entirely.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Account Operations Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the job description has to require a specific degree, not just any bachelor's degree. USCIS looks at whether the role normally requires a degree in a particular field, such as business administration, finance, or supply chain management. Generic operations roles that accept any degree or substitute years of experience may not meet the specialty occupation threshold.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Account Operations Manager roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals but has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any time of year. The H-1B visa is subject to an annual lottery with a roughly 25% selection rate, meaning most applicants aren't selected. For Australians in operations management, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 in an Account Operations Manager role?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp if your current one has expired. There's no portability rule like AC21 for H-1B holders, so the process restarts with each employer change. Plan for at least a few weeks of lead time between signing a new offer and your first day.
