E-3 Visa Adjunct Instructor Jobs
Adjunct Instructor roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, and most accredited U.S. colleges and universities meet that standard. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian academics can pursue offers and file year-round.

Verify your credentials translate correctly
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying so your degree matches the role's stated requirements.
Target institutions with active LCA filing history
Community colleges, regional universities, and private liberal arts colleges file LCAs for adjunct roles far more often than you'd expect. Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway disclosure data by job title to find institutions that have sponsored similar positions recently.
Search E-3 sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Adjunct Instructor roles at U.S. institutions with confirmed E-3 sponsorship history. Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from offer letter to consulate appointment.
Confirm the role meets specialty occupation standards
An adjunct position titled 'Instructor' qualifies only if the institution requires a degree in a specific academic discipline for that role. General tutoring or non-credit teaching positions can fail the specialty occupation test, so review the job description before accepting an offer.
Time your consulate appointment around semester start dates
E-3 visas are issued for up to two years, but your I-94 period is tied to your employment start date. Schedule your consulate appointment at least four to six weeks before your contract start date to avoid delays affecting enrollment periods or course assignments.

Find Adjunct Instructor JobsAdjunct Instructor E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Adjunct Instructor jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see employers with verified E-3 filing history, which saves you from applying to institutions that have never sponsored an Australian employee and may not know how to start.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Adjunct Instructor role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the institution requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific academic discipline for the position. Roles that accept any degree field or list a degree as preferred rather than required may not satisfy the specialty occupation definition. Review the job posting carefully and ask HR to confirm the degree requirement is stated in institutional hiring policy before proceeding.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Adjunct Instructor positions?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no annual lottery, no cap, and no random selection. H-1B applicants for the same role would need to enter the annual lottery and wait up to a year for a start date if selected. For adjunct roles tied to a specific semester, the E-3's year-round availability and predictable timeline make it far more practical.
Can I work at multiple institutions on a single E-3 visa?
Each employer must file a separate LCA with the DOL and be listed on your E-3 visa application. You can hold concurrent E-3 status with multiple academic employers, but each institution must independently certify prevailing wage compliance. Notify your primary E-3 employer before adding a second institution to avoid any compliance complications.
