Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before interviews so employers aren't uncertain about your qualifications.
Target companies with existing LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center for companies that have previously filed LCAs for product management roles. These employers already understand the process and won't treat your E-3 as an unknown compliance burden.
Use Migrate Mate to find Director-level E-3 roles
Migrate Mate filters specifically for Australian E-3 sponsorship roles at the Director level, saving you from filtering through hundreds of listings that exclude visa sponsorship or only support H-1B applicants.
Address specialty occupation directly in your resume
The E-3 requires the role to be a specialty occupation. Your resume should explicitly show that the Director, Product Management position requires and uses your specific degree field, not just any bachelor's degree.
Negotiate the LCA filing into your offer timeline
The employer must file an LCA with the DOL before your E-3 application can proceed. Raise this at the offer stage so your start date accounts for the certification timeline, typically around seven business days.
File your complete application package at once
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing is submitted out of sequence. Incomplete packages are the most common cause of delays for Director-level candidates moving quickly between offer and consulate appointment.
E-3 Visa Director, Product Management: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Director, Product Management jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. It filters out positions that only support H-1B or don't sponsor visas at all, so every result you see is relevant to your situation as an Australian national applying at the Director, Product Management level.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Director, Product Management role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline. The role itself must require that specific degree, not merely prefer it. Senior product leadership roles at the Director level typically meet this bar, but the employer's job description needs to reflect that requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Director, Product Management candidates?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year once you have a job offer. The H-1B runs through a lottery with a selection rate well below 50% in recent years, meaning many qualified candidates wait multiple years. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to a Director-level product role in the U.S.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Director of Product Management?
Changing employers requires a new LCA filing and a fresh E-3 application before you start with the new company. An internal promotion to a materially different role, such as moving from Director to VP of Product, may also require a new LCA if the job duties or wage level change significantly. Plan for a few weeks of lead time before any transition.
