Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree must connect directly to email marketing work, a degree in communications, marketing, or digital media strengthens your case. A degree in an unrelated field, even with years of experience, can complicate the specialty occupation determination at the consulate.
Target employers with active LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for marketing roles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move faster and make fewer errors that delay your E-3 visa application.
Use Migrate Mate to streamline your filing
Once you have a job offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from start to consulate appointment. This is especially useful when your employer's HR team has no prior E-3 experience.
Negotiate the job title before the LCA is filed
The job title on your LCA must match your actual duties and reflect a specialty occupation. Generic titles like 'Marketing Coordinator' can raise consular scrutiny for E-3 applicants. Work with your employer to use a title that accurately reflects degree-level email marketing responsibilities.
Prepare a degree equivalency letter proactively
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but consular officers occasionally question this. Having a credential evaluation from a recognized service ready before your interview removes that variable entirely.
Confirm your employer's prevailing wage compliance
The DOL requires your offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your role and location before certifying the LCA. If your employer proposes a salary below the wage level, the LCA will not be certified and your E-3 application cannot proceed.
E-3 Visa Email Marketing Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Email Marketing Specialist jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces Email Marketing Specialist positions at employers open to sponsoring Australian nationals, saving you the step of vetting each employer's sponsorship willingness separately.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Email Marketing Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like marketing, communications, or digital media. The role must not be one where any degree qualifies regardless of field. Job descriptions that specify degree requirements tied to email strategy, analytics, or campaign management support a stronger specialty occupation case.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Email Marketing Specialists?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation exclusively for Australian citizens, and that cap has never been reached, so there is no lottery. H-1B applicants for the same role face a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate in recent years. For Australian Email Marketing Specialists, the E-3 is a direct path that doesn't depend on chance.
Can my E-3 be renewed if I change email marketing roles within the same company?
A significant change in duties, title, or location may require your employer to file an amended or new LCA before your next E-3 renewal. If your role evolves from campaign execution to a management position, for example, the underlying LCA should reflect those new duties to avoid issues at renewal.
