Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Event Marketing Manager
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Your Australian marketing or communications degree must tie directly to the Event Marketing Manager role. A three-year bachelor's is generally accepted as U.S.-equivalent, but prepare a credential evaluation if your employer's HR team raises questions during the LCA stage.
Target employers with dedicated event marketing functions
Focus on companies that run in-house event programs, not agencies that staff events ad hoc. Brands with annual trade show budgets, product launch cycles, or conference sponsorship programs are far more likely to file an E-3 for this role.
Get your offer letter to specify degree requirements
The E-3 requires proof of a specialty occupation, so your offer letter must state that a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, not preferred. Ask your hiring manager to confirm this language before the LCA is filed with DOL.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and paperwork
The DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before you can attend your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing stalls between offer acceptance and your start date.
Distinguish your portfolio from contract event staff
Consular officers sometimes question whether event roles meet specialty occupation standards. Document that your work involves strategic planning, budget ownership, and cross-functional stakeholder management, not just on-site coordination or logistics execution.
Confirm your start date accounts for DS-160 processing time
E-3 consulate appointments at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth can book out several weeks. Negotiate a start date at least six to eight weeks after your offer is signed to give yourself buffer for scheduling, the interview, and passport return.

Find Event Marketing Manager JobsEvent Marketing Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Event Marketing Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find Event Marketing Manager roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't distinguish between visa types, so you can waste significant time applying to roles where the employer hasn't considered the E-3 at all. Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers already open to sponsoring Australian nationals.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Event Marketing Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, if the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. The key is that the degree requirement must be real and job-specific, not a generic preference. Roles involving strategic campaign planning, vendor management, and measurable ROI reporting are much easier to defend than purely operational event coordination positions.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Event Marketing Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, which is the practical difference that matters most. H-1B registrations are selected randomly from a pool each March, and there's no guarantee of selection even with a strong application. With the E-3, any Australian national who has a qualifying job offer and meets degree requirements can apply directly at the consulate, typically within a few weeks of offer acceptance.
Can my employer sponsor the E-3 if they've never done it before?
Yes. The E-3 process starts with the employer filing a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which is straightforward compared to H-1B. Many U.S. companies are unfamiliar with the E-3 but are willing to proceed once they understand it doesn't require USCIS petition approval or lottery participation. Coming to the conversation with clear filing instructions helps move things forward.
