About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is hiring a Field Marketing Manager dedicated to the Startups segment — the fastest-growing customer segment we serve, and one we believe will define how the next generation of AI-native companies adopts and builds with Claude. You will own the field marketing strategy and end-to-end execution for startups in the US, partnering closely with our Startup Sales and Partnerships teams and with the world's leading VCs and accelerators.
This is a builder role. Field Marketing at Anthropic is a small, scrappy team and Startups is greenfield — there is no existing playbook for you to inherit. You will design the event calendar, build the VC partnership motion, run founder dinners and Demo Day activations, and create the playbooks that scale across our startup motion.
Responsibilities
- Own the US Startups field marketing calendar end-to-end — strategy, planning, execution, and measurement
- Build co-marketing partnerships with tier-1 VCs and accelerators (YC, Lightspeed, Accel, a16z, Sequoia and others), including Demo Day activations and portfolio engagement programs
- Design and run founder-facing event formats — founder dinners, salons, hackathons, technical workshops, office hours — that build relationships and generate qualified pipeline
- Partner closely with Startup Sales and BDRs on pre-event targeting, during-event engagement, and post-event follow-up to convert attention into pipeline
- Build operational playbooks (founder dinner kit, Demo Day activation kit, hackathon kit) that the Field Marketing team can scale across regions and segments
- Establish baseline metrics, dashboards, and ROI reporting for all startup field programs
- Be the face of Anthropic in the startup ecosystem — credible with founders, with VCs, and with technical audiences
What we are looking for
- 7+ years of experience spanning a blend of Field Marketing, Demand Generation, ABM, Events at B2B technology companies, with at least 2 years in Field Marketing
- Direct startup-segment experience — you have built and run programs targeting startups, founders, and developers as your primary audience, not as an enterprise field marketer who occasionally touches startups
- End-to-end ownership of field marketing events and programs, hands on in both strategy and execution — this is a 0-1 building role with very little foundation in place
- Repeat success across multiple companies — we are looking for a pattern of impact, scaling field or demand generation programs in different environments, not a single-company tour (however strong the brand)
- VC and accelerator ecosystem fluency — existing relationships with tier-1 VCs, knowledge of Demo Day rhythms, comfort in founder rooms
- 0-to-1 builder DNA — you've built a field marketing motion from scratch (or rebuilt one), and you also have scaled-company tenure that grounds you operationally
- Tight sales alignment — you've worked shoulder-to-shoulder with AEs and BDRs on account targeting, pre-event outreach, and post-event follow-up
- Operational rigor — you can stand up vendor management, registration, follow-up workflows, and ROI dashboards without being asked
- Technical credibility — you can review technical event content, brief technical speakers, and hold your own with founder/CTO audiences
Strong candidates may also have
- Direct relationships with YC, Lightspeed, Accel, a16z, or Sequoia
- AI/ML field marketing experience (OpenAI, Cohere, Hugging Face, etc.)
- Prior tour at an AI-native or developer-tools startup as an operator
- Speaking, writing, or visible thought leadership in the startup or developer ecosystem
Role-specific policy: For this role, we expect all staff to be able to work from our San Francisco office at least 2 days a week. We encourage you to apply even if you might need some flexibility for an interim period of time for relocation.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$255,000 - $320,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Field Marketing Manager
Translate your Australian marketing credentials
Your three-year Australian bachelor's degree is recognized as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes. Gather your official transcripts and a credential evaluation letter before you start applying, some employers request these upfront.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for past Labor Condition Applications filed under marketing-related SOC codes. Employers who have filed LCAs before understand the process and won't treat your sponsorship request as an obstacle.
Find verified E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Generic job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, so you waste time on roles that will never move forward. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to identify employers actively hiring Australians and to manage your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end.
Clarify your field marketing role meets specialty occupation
Not every marketing title automatically qualifies. Your job duties must require a specific bachelor's degree, not a general one. Roles focused on campaign strategy, demand generation, or regional marketing programs with clear degree requirements are strongest for E-3 approval.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
Your employer must file the LCA with DOL and receive certification before your consulate appointment. Build at least two weeks of LCA processing time into your start date negotiation so your visa interview isn't delayed by a paperwork gap.

Find Field Marketing Manager JobsField Marketing Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Field Marketing Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Most job postings don't specify E-3 sponsorship, so filtering by visa type is the practical challenge. Migrate Mate lists Field Marketing Manager roles from employers who sponsor Australian professionals on the E-3 visa, saving you from applying to positions that will stall at the offer stage when sponsorship comes up.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Field Marketing Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as marketing, business, or communications. Roles with broad requirements, where any degree qualifies, are harder to support. Field marketing positions tied to campaign management, regional demand generation, or product marketing programs with defined degree requirements have the strongest case.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Field Marketing Manager roles?
The E-3 is available year-round with no lottery, no annual cap, and consulate processing that bypasses USCIS entirely for new applicants. H-1B registrations for the same role are subject to an annual lottery with roughly one-in-four selection odds. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a structurally more reliable path to the same marketing leadership roles.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Field Marketing Manager?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA and a new visa stamp. You can't simply transfer your E-3 status to a new employer the way some other visa holders port their status. Plan for at least a few weeks of processing time between accepting a new offer and your authorized start date with the new company.
