E-3 Visa RN Staff Nurse Jobs
RN Staff Nurse roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship because nursing meets the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. U.S. hospitals actively seek Australian-trained RNs, and the E-3's no-lottery structure means your application competes on merit, not chance, with two-year renewable status tied to your employment.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a RN Staff Nurse
Get your NCLEX and credentials verified early
Australian nursing qualifications require CGFNS or state board evaluation before U.S. employers can sponsor you. Start the credential verification process at least three months before your job search, as delays here stall the entire E-3 application timeline.
Target hospitals enrolled in E-Verify
E-Verify enrollment signals a hospital's familiarity with work authorization compliance. STEM-heavy health systems and large hospital networks are more likely to have dedicated HR teams experienced in E-3 filings for international nursing staff.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter RN Staff Nurse roles by employers with active E-3 sponsorship history. The platform surfaces jobs from hospitals already familiar with the LCA and DOL filing process, cutting out employers who would decline at the offer stage.
Clarify state licensure requirements before accepting offers
Each U.S. state issues its own RN license, and your E-3 visa is tied to the state where you'll work. Confirm your employer will sponsor a license transfer or that you qualify for endorsement before the LCA is filed with DOL.
Ask employers about LCA wage level during negotiations
The DOL requires your offered wage to meet the prevailing wage for your role and location. Wage Level II or III is standard for staff nurses in major metro areas. Employers who file at Level I for experienced RNs risk LCA rejection, which delays your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission, visa application paperwork, and consulate appointment preparation. This avoids the coordination errors that occur when employers and applicants manage the process separately.

Find RN Staff Nurse JobsRN Staff Nurse E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find RN Staff Nurse jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters roles specifically by E-3 sponsorship eligibility and employer filing history. Most general job boards don't distinguish between employers willing to sponsor E-3 visas and those that won't, so you waste time on applications that stall at the offer stage. Migrate Mate removes that guesswork for Australian-trained nurses.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does RN Staff Nurse qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Registered nursing qualifies as a specialty occupation because the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing as a standard entry requirement. Your Australian Bachelor of Nursing is treated as equivalent to a U.S. four-year BSN for E-3 purposes. You'll also need to pass the NCLEX-RN and hold a valid state nursing license before starting work.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Australian nurses?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for Australian nurses than the H-1B. There's no lottery, no annual cap pressure, and no registration fee. You can apply year-round and receive a two-year renewable visa tied to your employment. The H-1B requires lottery selection and has a March registration window, meaning most nurses face a year-long wait even after securing a job offer.
Can I change hospitals while on an E-3 as an RN?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and support a new visa application or status amendment before you start work. There's no portability rule like AC21 for green card holders. If you're changing states, you'll also need a new state nursing license, which can take several weeks and should be factored into your transition timeline.
