Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Supply Chain Intern
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
U.S. consular officers assess whether your role theoretically requires a bachelor's degree. Make sure your resume and employer's offer letter explicitly tie your supply chain coursework to the intern responsibilities, not just general business skills.
Target employers already filing LCAs
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for employers with certified LCAs in logistics and supply chain categories. Companies with existing LCA history understand the filing process, which reduces delays when they sponsor your E-3 visa.
Get your Australian degree equivalency documented early
A three-year Australian bachelor's in supply chain or logistics is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but have your transcript and a credential evaluation ready before your interview to avoid consular questions slowing your offer.
Clarify employer LCA obligations before accepting
Your employer must file a certified LCA with the DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Confirm they understand this step and have HR or legal resources to complete it, as LCA certification typically takes seven business days.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Intern roles attract first-time E-3 applicants who underestimate the LCA and DS-160 paperwork. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process from LCA preparation through consulate appointment so nothing stalls your start date.
Time your application around consulate appointment availability
Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth consulates each have different E-3 interview wait times that shift seasonally. Book your appointment as soon as your employer's LCA is certified rather than waiting, since slots can extend several weeks during peak periods.
E-3 Visa Supply Chain Intern: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Supply Chain Intern jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to filter Supply Chain Intern roles by employers with active E-3 sponsorship history. Most general job boards don't flag visa sponsorship accurately, so you can waste time applying to roles where employers have never filed an LCA. Migrate Mate surfaces companies that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor Australian nationals.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Supply Chain Intern role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It qualifies when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as supply chain management, logistics, operations, or industrial engineering. Internships framed as general administrative support typically don't meet the threshold. The offer letter and job description must reflect degree-level analytical or technical responsibilities to satisfy the consular officer's review.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Supply Chain Intern positions?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any time of year once you have an offer and a certified LCA. The H-1B visa requires winning a random lottery with roughly a 25 percent selection rate for most applicants, and cap-subject petitions can only start work on October 1. For an internship with a defined start date, the E-3 is far more predictable.
What happens to my E-3 status if the internship ends early or I change employers?
Your E-3 status is tied to the specific employer listed on your LCA and visa. If the internship ends before your authorized period, you enter a grace period of up to 60 days to find a new sponsoring employer, change status, or depart the U.S. A new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the country.
