Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree in HR, business, or organisational psychology satisfies the E-3 degree requirement. Have your transcripts officially translated and assessed so employers can confirm specialty occupation eligibility before extending an offer.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for HR or talent acquisition roles. Prior filings signal that the employer understands the sponsorship process and won't treat your E-3 as an obstacle at the offer stage.
Clarify the LCA requirement early in negotiations
Many hiring managers confuse the E-3 with H-1B and assume a lottery is involved. Explain upfront that the employer's only obligation is a certified LCA from DOL, which typically processes within seven business days and carries no filing fee for the employer.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. This is especially useful for roles at smaller companies whose HR teams have never sponsored a visa before.
Confirm your job title reflects HR management scope
The consular officer will scrutinise whether your role constitutes a specialty occupation. A Talent Acquisition Manager title carrying only administrative duties can raise questions, so ensure your offer letter describes strategic responsibilities like workforce planning or employer branding.
Time your consulate appointment around role start dates
E-3 visas are issued for up to two years and can be renewed indefinitely, but consulate appointment availability in Sydney or Melbourne varies by season. Book your appointment as soon as your LCA is certified to avoid delaying your start date.

Find Talent Acquisition Manager JobsTalent Acquisition Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Talent Acquisition Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 sponsorship. You can filter directly for Talent Acquisition Manager positions where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor, saving you from manually screening companies that have no E-3 experience.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Talent Acquisition Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as human resources, business, or organisational psychology. If the employer's job description accepts any degree regardless of field, a consular officer may question whether it meets the specialty occupation standard, so the offer letter should specify the required discipline.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Talent Acquisition Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap, and processes through a consulate interview rather than a months-long USCIS adjudication. For HR roles, this means you can go from offer to visa stamp in a matter of weeks rather than waiting for an April lottery result. The trade-off is that the E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and does not confer dual intent.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Talent Acquisition Manager?
Yes, but you cannot simply transfer your existing E-3. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you will need a new E-3 visa stamp, which means returning to a consulate in Australia or applying at a U.S. consulate abroad. You can work for the new employer once the LCA is certified and you have valid E-3 status, but confirm the timing with your employer before you resign.
