Events Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a events in Massachusetts?
Most events roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in hospitality, communications, marketing, or a related field, though direct experience often carries equal weight. Massachusetts does not issue a state license for event professionals, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential issued by the Events Industry Council. Building a portfolio through university event offices, nonprofit fundraising departments, or hotel catering teams is the most reliable path into the field here.
Which companies hire eventss in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring eventss in Massachusetts right now include Title Boxing Club, Fireside Catering, and Harvard University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of universities, convention hotels, and corporate headquarters means hiring is relatively consistent across the Greater Boston area throughout the year.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most events jobs?
The cities with the most events openings in Massachusetts are Boston, Cambridge, and Burlington. Boston drives the largest share of demand because of its major convention facilities, corporate headquarters, and world-class university and medical campuses, while Worcester and Cambridge generate steady openings through their own anchor institutions, conference venues, and growing hospitality sectors.
Are there remote events jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they're rare. Events work is fundamentally on-site and logistics-driven, so fully remote roles make up a small portion of the market. About 50% of events openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be in planning, sponsorship coordination, or program management rather than day-of production or venue operations.
How can I get hired as a events in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a coordinator or event assistant role at a Boston-area hotel, university, or nonprofit. Large Massachusetts institutions such as Boston University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Marriott-branded convention hotels regularly bring on entry-level planners and operations associates with little formal experience. Volunteering with the Massachusetts Chapter of Meeting Professionals International and earning the CMP candidate designation signals commitment and gives a concrete credential edge when competing against equally inexperienced applicants.
