New Grad Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a new grad in Massachusetts?
Most new grad roles in Massachusetts require completing a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university, with many employers in the state expecting at least one co-op or internship completed through programs common at schools like Northeastern, UMass Amherst, or Boston University. Roles in licensed professions such as nursing, engineering, or social work additionally require passing the applicable Massachusetts board exam and registering with the relevant state licensing authority before starting work.
Which companies hire new grads in Massachusetts?
Companies currently hiring new grads in Massachusetts include ConvenientMD, Maxim Healthcare, and Boston Medical Center, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of biotech, defense, and financial services firms means new grad hiring tends to be structured, with many large employers running formal cohort programs that onboard multiple graduates at once.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most new grad jobs?
Agawam, Ludlow, and Weymouth account for the largest share of new grad openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge drive volume through their dense clusters of teaching hospitals, life sciences companies, and financial institutions, while Worcester draws new grad hiring from UMass Memorial Health and a growing manufacturing and biomedical sector that anchors employment in the central part of the state.
Are there remote new grad jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. About 0% of new grad openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with desk-based and analytical roles such as data science, marketing, and software engineering making up the bulk of flexible arrangements. Hands-on positions in clinical, lab, or manufacturing settings are almost always on-site.
How can I get hired as a new grad in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured new grad or associate programs run by large Massachusetts employers, where prior experience is explicitly not required. Organizations like Mass General Brigham, Liberty Mutual, and State Street run new grad cohort or rotational programs designed for candidates coming straight from school. Building a portfolio of coursework projects, obtaining a relevant Massachusetts professional registration early, or transitioning from a named adjacent role such as research assistant, lab technician, or financial analyst trainee also strengthens candidacy considerably.
