Events Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a events manager in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as an events manager, so the path runs through education and credentials. Most Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, communications, or marketing, combined with hands-on planning experience. Earning the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation through the Events Industry Council strengthens candidacy significantly, particularly for corporate and association roles. Starting as an events coordinator or assistant at a hotel, university, or convention center is the most common entry point in Texas.
Which companies hire events managers in Texas?
Employers hiring events managers in Texas right now include White Lodging, Hyatt, and Aramark, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's dense concentration of corporate headquarters, major hotel brands, and large convention facilities means consistent openings well beyond peak event seasons.
Which Texas cities have the most events manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio have the most events manager openings in Texas. Houston and Dallas drive volume through their large corporate headquarters, convention centers, and hotel groups, while Austin's fast-growing tech and association conference scene has made it a consistent source of openings across both corporate and nonprofit sectors.
Are there remote events manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're relatively limited. Events management is inherently on-site for production and logistics work, so fully remote roles are the exception rather than the rule. About 7% of events manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to focus on pre-event planning, vendor coordination, and sponsorship management rather than on-site execution.
How can I get hired as a events manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an events coordinator or events assistant at a Texas hotel, university, or large nonprofit. Employers like major Texas medical centers, state universities, and convention hotel groups regularly bring in entry-level planners who grow into full management roles. Volunteering to coordinate events for local professional associations or completing an internship at a Dallas or Houston venue builds a portfolio that replaces experience on a resume. Earning a CMP candidate designation while working entry-level roles accelerates the move into manager titles.
Where can I find and apply to events manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to events manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from employers across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
