Events Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a events manager in New York?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an events manager in New York. The standard path is a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, communications, or marketing followed by coordinator-level experience at a New York venue, hotel, or nonprofit. Earning the Certified Meeting Professional credential strengthens applications significantly, and New York's dense concentration of convention centers, hotels, and corporate headquarters makes it easier to build relevant experience quickly.
Which companies hire events managers in New York?
Employers hiring events managers in New York right now include Dave & Buster's, Highgate, and Sodexo, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, major hotel groups, and large nonprofits means demand is consistent across corporate, hospitality, and mission-driven sectors throughout the year.
Which New York cities have the most events manager jobs?
New York, New York City, and Brooklyn have the most events manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its density of corporate headquarters, convention venues, and hospitality groups, while White Plains and Albany draw demand from regional associations, government agencies, and healthcare institutions that run their own event programs.
Are there remote events manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Events management is largely an on-site role tied to venue coordination, vendor management, and day-of execution. About 25% of events manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to involve pre-event logistics, sponsorship sales, or association program management where physical presence is less constant.
How can I get hired as a events manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an events coordinator or events assistant role at a New York hotel group, convention center, or nonprofit, where you handle logistics support while building hands-on experience. Large New York hospitality employers and cultural institutions like museums and universities regularly hire entry-level coordinators. A Certified Meeting Professional candidate designation and a portfolio of even volunteer-run events, such as college programs or community fundraisers, give early-career applicants a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to events manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to events manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings across corporate, hospitality, nonprofit, and media sectors. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly to each one.
