Which New York cities have the most engineering program manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Rochester have the most engineering program manager openings in New York. New York City dominates due to its density of financial technology, media, and enterprise software firms, while Long Island's established aerospace and defense corridor anchored by contractors like Northrop Grumman sustains consistent demand, and Albany's government technology and energy infrastructure projects draw additional program management hiring.

About 33% of engineering program manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting genuine flexibility at many employers. The planning, reporting, and stakeholder management responsibilities translate especially well to remote arrangements, while on-site presence is more common during hardware build phases or defense-cleared programs.
