At Apple, great ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and experiences very quickly. Business Operations, Employee Engagement, and Strategy is part of IS&T and shapes the strategy, operations, and culture of IS&T. The team oversees business planning, IS&T's partnership strategy across Apple, and the technology tools that support the organization's day-to-day operations. This team also leads IS&T's enterprise generative AI strategy and manages compliance across systems. Through its communications and employee programs, it champions the growth, inclusion, and development of everyone in IS&T and drives the standard for IS&T brand and product communications across Apple.
Apple’s Information Systems & Technology group is at the center of the enterprise GenAI transformation and we need someone who can connect the dots across it. We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Program Manager to lead complex cross-functional programs, with a specific focus on agentic AI and MCP server delivery. You will help define what GenAI strategy and adoption looks like for IS&T and drive the standards and pathways that turn scattered experiments into company-wide impact. If you’re energized by fast-moving technology, thrive in cross-organizational work, and can go deep on an MCP protocol spec in the morning and distill program strategy for senior leadership in the afternoon, we want to hear from you.
Description
Generative AI and agentic systems are reshaping how work gets done at Apple, but realizing gains at scale requires more than point tools. It takes a shared strategy, curated pathways for adoption, and a connective layer across the many teams already experimenting. In this role, you will own that connective layer. Your work will span three interlocking workstreams: discovery of emerging GenAI capabilities, enablement through standards alignment, and adoption that brings the best tools to every Apple employee. An early and critical focus will be prioritizing and delivering MCP servers and agentic AI solutions that unlock value across Apple - partnering with teams across IS&T, including AI & Data Platforms (AiDP), Employee Experience & Productivity (EEP), and peer engineering organizations, to define requirements, manage interdependencies, and ensure timely, high-quality releases. You will also collaborate with Apple’s Privacy, Security, and Design experts where needed to ensure solutions meet Apple’s bar for safe creation. The ideal candidate combines deep program management expertise with technical fluency in GenAI and agentic systems, and thrives in high-ambiguity, high-impact environments where success depends on influence rather than authority.
Responsibilities
-
Prioritize, coordinate, and drive the delivery of MCP servers and agentic AI solutions across Apple, partnering with AiDP, EEP, and peer engineering teams to define requirements, manage interdependencies, and ensure timely, high-quality releases.
-
Define and drive a common strategy for GenAI adoption across Apple, partnering with engineering and business leaders to align priorities and translate strategy into a roadmap with clear KPIs.
-
Continuously scan best-in-class GenAI developments: MCP servers, agentic AI solutions and clients, GenAI workflows, both internal and external, and surface high-signal opportunities for Apple-wide investment.
-
Collaborate engineering teams across IS&T and Apple to align on shared standards for GenAI solutions, making it easy for any Apple employee building or adopting GenAI tools to do so safely and effectively.
-
Bring the best-in-class tools, plugins, skills, agents, and workflows to all Apple employees by reducing friction for access, onboarding, and ongoing learning.
-
Act as the connective tissue between existing GenAI and agentic AI communities across Apple, bridging verticals, representing disparate needs, and ensuring no single group dominates the direction.
-
Drive toward a centralized discovery and learning experience for GenAI at Apple, establishing feedback loops and user groups that keep it useful, trusted, and continuously improving.
-
Distill complex, cross-organizational programs into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership - transparently communicating progress, risk, and strategy with tailored framing for each audience.
Minimum Qualifications
-
8+ years of combined experience leading large transformational programs or technical initiatives.
-
Proven track record of driving complex, cross-functional programs at enterprise scale.
-
Demonstrated experience with GenAI, LLM-based workflows, or agentic systems in an enterprise context.
-
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Management or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Hands-on familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP), agent frameworks, or GenAI developer tooling.
-
Experience with portfolio management, especially managing interdependencies across multiple engineering tracks and delivery teams.
-
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor technical concepts to audiences ranging from individual contributors to executives.
-
Track record of building internal communities, developer relations programs, or evangelism functions.
-
Experience partnering with Privacy, Security, or Design organizations to land standards across a large engineering population.
-
Strong understanding of enterprise productivity domains such as engineering tooling, IT, operations, customer care, HR, or similar.
-
Experience leading cross-organizational initiatives where success depends on diplomacy, coalition-building, and neutral stewardship rather than direct authority.
-
Demonstrated ability to distill the complexities of large-scale programs into clear, compelling narratives for senior executives.
-
Experience using qualitative and quantitative data to drive product adoption strategies and measure impact.
