Job Description
Our dynamic team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Marketing and Technology Project Manager at the Vice President level. This pivotal team-lead role will be instrumental in assisting the department manager with the strategic oversight and execution of a diverse portfolio of projects at the intersection of marketing and technology. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational prowess, a keen eye for detail in requirements gathering, and the ability to craft compelling project plans and presentations. Success in this role hinges on superior communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives, business representatives, marketing professionals, and technologists, driving projects forward with precision, strategic insight, and timeliness. This role requires a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field, contributing to directional strategy by considering its application to the job and business. You will be a recognized technical authority, applying an in-depth understanding of how different areas collectively integrate to achieve functional objectives, and providing advice and counsel related to technology and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Portfolio Management: Assist in managing a complex portfolio of marketing and technology projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business priorities across the enterprise.
- Comprehensive Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project and program plans, including scope definition, timelines, resource allocation, risk management strategies, benefits management, and stakeholder engagement plans. Oversee execution to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Lead detailed requirements gathering sessions, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable project and technical specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication & Management: Maintain transparent communication with all project and program stakeholders, including senior executives, providing regular updates on status, risks, and achievements. Ensure all stakeholders are identified, included in scope definition, and understand milestones.
- Presentation Development: Create high-impact presentations for various audiences, including executive briefings, project reviews, and strategic planning sessions, effectively distilling complex information into clear visual narratives.
- Organizational Excellence: Apply best-in-class organizational skills to manage project and program documentation, track progress, and ensure activities are systematically structured and executed.
- Executive Collaboration: Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with senior executives to translate their vision into tangible project deliverables.
- Solution Conceptualization & Design: Understand the big picture, conceptualize complex technology solutions, and lead architectural design sessions for marketing/ad-tech platforms, working with internal and external partners.
- Marketing Technology Solutions: Drive the implementation and integration of martech/ad-tech solutions, including identity management, customer lifecycle marketing programs, and cross-device reach initiatives.
- Vendor and Third-Party Management: Support the tracking of vendor deliverables, administer program contracts, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver new marketing technology solutions.
- Risk & Control: Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Gap Analysis & Recommendations: Identify gaps in capabilities, data, or partners and work with management to provide recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, Meetings and Events, Hospitality industry, or a related field; an MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in project and program management, specifically within marketing and/or technology domains. Knowledge of Meetings and Events industry extremely helpful.
- Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects and programs simultaneously, from conception to completion.
- Demonstrated expertise in requirements gathering methodologies, business analysis, and developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Exceptional command of Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation tools, with an ability to distill complex information into clear and concise visual narratives.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is desirable.
- Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Mar Tech stack environments is highly helpful.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in marketing and/or ad technology, preferably in financial services.
